I’m a big fan of light-weight scarves for Spring. They’re perfect for throwing on when there’s a slight chill in the air or once you hit the blaring A/C of certain department stores…and personally, if my neck is covered (even with bare arms), my body temp warms up a couple of ticks.
I also love how easily you can use them to dress up an outfit (think cotton tank and jeans) or to strategically add color and a trendy accent to your look.
This DVF Indochine scarf is to die for. I really love the classic black and white print contrasted by pops of the coral floral graphics.
The best part is that this accessory pays homage to the floral, graphic, and bright colour trends for Spring all in one pop! $190 available on Shopbop.

The name Coach may not fly off everyone’s tongue as pre-eminent handbag designers, but I’m a big fan of their merchandise (especially their planners and sunglasses). They also have very lovely window displays in their Manhattan shops, so I always try and walk by for a look-see every few weeks so I know what’s current.

If everything we choose to wear and carry as we leave the house is perfectly coordinated and chic, then shouldn’t our daily coffee cup fit that picture also? Cup Couture offers a variety of eco-friendly, reusable cupcoats for our hot beverages.

It seems as though being a socialite, actor or reality TV star basically guarantees a successful foray into the fashion, beauty and accessories realm. Almost everyday there’s a new announcement or buzz about celebrities becoming spokesmodels or designers for some of our favourite brands.

Everyone has been declaiming that stars are in! I have been a big fan of stars for awhile (to the point that I have several tattoos of them, but that is another story), but now that Kate, Mary-Kate, and, um, Paris (we didn’t say that they would ALL be pulled off with class) are wearing them, they are one of the trends du jour.

It’s official, ladies. Pearls are no longer just for your grandmother, great-aunt Frances, and job interviews. Sarah Jessica Parker was seen wearing long strands of them looped over a little black dress, and I’ve got to say, she looked fabulous.
Along with the more tailored, 1950s-inspired looks that we saw for the Fall 2008 collections, it’s a perfect time for pearls to make a comeback.

I’ve never had a purely functional watch. In fact, the one that I’ve been sporting since college is a Gucci bracelet watch that has no hash marks or numbers on the face. I can barely make out the hour on it (the oblong shape doesn’t help my cause either), but it’s just so pretty. I mean, who needs an actual time-telling watch when we can’t leave the house these days without a cell phone or Blackberry in tow?
Becoming more demode is the concept of heavy, traditional watches, and more prevalent are unique and stylish accessories that happen to be watches.

There is something about the sun in springtime that makes me crave brightly coloured clothing and accessories. Intermix Online is one of my favourite places to browse for the latest in fashion from a wide array of designers, so I was delighted to discover the lovely jewelry designs of Diane Yang. Her pieces are sophisticated but still youthful and feature gems in bright, juicy colors. My favourite piece in the bunch is this Crystal Rainbow Choker.
