Ever wanted to wear twigs for bracelets or to wear a cluster of autumn leaves around your neck? Not particularly? The thought hadn’t crossed my mind either until I saw the work of jewellery designer Catherine Weitzman.

It was impossible to miss one of this season’s trends all over the catwalks; yes I’m talking about the statement necklace! Dries Van Noten, Cavalli and Amarni amongst others all loaded up their models with over sized beads, pearls and flowers, evidently with the shared philosophy; the bigger the better!

I’ve suddenly come over all festive. I cannot seem to get Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want for Christmas’ out of my head, I’ve recently found myself munching on mince pies, and what with the incessant, obligatory Christmas sofa adverts that have been tormenting me for around two months now, this can all only add up to one thing: the party season...

Miu Miu started the trend; Roberto Cavalli continued it and now the high street have adopted it as their own. I am of course talking about insects.

As with many of our favourite fashion trends it all started with Sex and the City and the quirky style of leading lady Carrie Bradshaw.

Metal accessories are the way forward this winter. The high street is doing us proud with metal snake chain horse pendant belts to beaten copper bags.

A friend recently told me about Helpless Romantic and now I’m hooked.

As winter steadily approaches a good hat can easily become ones best friend;  great for keeping you cosy on those bleak wintry days as well as providing a convenient disguise for bad hair days and late-night eyes.

Thank God scientists have now found a cure for seasonal affective disorder. Ok, I’m exaggerating a little, but this season’s hoard of magenta coloured accessories< is working wonders when it comes to cheering me up when it’s grey and wet out there.
