  • Coleen; Vogue material?
The speed at which one can become a celebrity is amazing, and if anyone should know it would be Coleen McLoughlin. She has made the headlines almost every week for one thing or another and the most talked about stunt at the moment is her success at making the June cover of Vogue. All are debating whether she deserves it or not, how it will affect the magazines credibilty...

  • J-lo down
I’ve always sat on the fence re the fur debate, I’ve seen both sides of the argument and haven’t really felt passionately about it enough to completely agree that fur should be banned. To be honest I think fur coats are beautiful, I’ve never worn one and probably wouldnt just because it’s not my style but I’ve admired it on others....

  • Learning from the Japanese
I believe the most fashionable people in the world are the Japanese, simply because they dare to be different and the most amazing people in life are those who don’t compromise themselves. So often we spend so much time pretending to be something we are not that I think we tend to forget who we actually are. I know I’ve done it often enough. Sometimes I don’t...

  • Perfect Fit
I went down to my local shop to get a couple of bits and pieces and when I got to the checkout I couldn’t help but warm to the woman behind the counter. She was sweet, friendly and helpful. But I also couldn’t help but notice that her clothes were two sizes too small. Her trousers clung to her thighs, her cardigan hugged her chest and was so tiny that her...

  • Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring
Time is moving so fast anyone would think it was chasing Beyonce’s ass. (Yes that girl is sex all the way and she has a damn good stylist, who is working that diva look for her). Anyway spring is making its way to your side of town ALREADY, therefore its time to put away all those dark colours and force yourself to try out the pinks, blues, greens and yellows....

  • Is a part of fashion dying?
Every fashion related news article which I read now always has some form of complaint about the industry. Earlier this week president of the Chambre Syndicale ( the French fashion collective representing haute couture and ready-to-wear) Didier Grumbach was voicing his opinions about the way in which the timing of the catwalk shows promote copycats by high street retailers....

  • Articles: Letting go
Every season we are told of the “new trends” yet more often than not some part of the new always has an element of the old. This season we are living in the 60’s and 80’s. Yet in the early nineties I remember the 70’s making a comeback. The “platform” was so fashionable, I wanted a pair so much and I could have easily taken my...

  • Imitation
This is a very interesting article which highlights the point that unlike the music and film industry the fashion world accepts rather than rejects imitations. I have never actually thought about this in depth before and I have always viewed copying as the norm in the fashion industry. It is not unusual that you have the runway shows full of new trends and creativity...
