  • Paris Fashion Week: Alexander McQueen AW09
Wow, in perfect contrast to Valentino’s dull display, this was a wow show. I never knew it was possible to experience fright and awe at the same time.

  • Paris Fashion Week: Valentino AW09
This was a lovely collection, nice lines, a good palette and pretty pieces. It was nice, inoffensive, wearable and classic. There wasn’t really a wow factor. It was just all very nice. Since Valentino retired the design house has been having a few issues, with a designer revolving door, the latest designer in charge is in fact a duo. Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo...

  • Paris Fashion Week: Yves Saint Laurent AW09
I feel terrible to say this, even thinking it has got me all hot and bothered. But I was really not taken with this show. It is a shame because I adore Yves Saint Laurent and I do believe Stefano Pilati to be a design genius. But I was left feeling a little underwhelmed after this collection.

  • Paris Fashion Week: Viktor & Rolf AW09
One of the highlights of last year was the Viktor and Rolf exhibition. It was a magical walk through the story of their designs and told rather wonderfully through giant dolls. Well this Autumn/Winter 09 show continued their flair for the creative and sent down models painted as white as porcelain dolls in clothes that were startlingly beautiful.

  • Paris Fashion Week: Sonia Rykiel AW09
As if in perfect contrast to the paired back minimalism of Givenchy, Sonia Rykiel created a kooky catwalk of Paris Left Bank, 70s style and 30s glamour. Billowing trouser suits, quirky brogues, velvet, sequins and knits made up this collection. The colour palette worked really well, a blend of muted burgundy with burnt orange, charcoal, black and ballet pink. The layering...

  • Paris Fashion Week: Givenchy AW09
If you’re looking for a brightly coloured, happy, cheery Autumn/Winter 09 wardrobe then look away now. But if you want beautiful, architecturally designed outfits then Givenchy is the one for you. This was a space age show, right down to the Princess Leia buns. The cuts particularly the shoulders and trousers were carefully tailored sci-fi shapes. The fur dresses looked...

  • Milan Fashion Week: DSquared2 AW09
Is this not the best-styled show ever? Would you not love to flaunt down the high street with your caramel macchiato in a full evening gown, cropped leather jacket and scarf? Oh just me then. Well I loved it. Ok, so this show is all in the styling and overall feel. But the boyfriend cuts, and ‘out all night’ looks were inspired.

  • Milan Fashion Week: Versace AW09
Versace brought full throttle colour to Milan Fashion Week. If you were fearing AW09 was going to be all black and grey then Versace is the designer for you. There was of course black and shades of silver, but hot pink, post box red and aqua blues made up a glorious palette. You can always rely on Donatella Versace to create ultra sexy, super skimpy gowns and this was...

  • Milan Fashion Week: Fendi AW09
Watch out boys, Karl Lagerfeld has created the ultimate collection for the urban warrior. This collection was sexy, subtle, feminine and tough. It was one of those catwalks where you look at the clothes once and think nice, and then you look again and think wow.

  • Milan Fashion Week: Dolce & Gabbana AW09
What a star studded event, you can always rely on the Dolce & Gabbana boys for drama and they delivered both on and off the runway. It was the most starry of front rows, there was the face of the new Dolce & Gabbana make up line; Scarlett Johansson, actress Freida Pinto, actress Kate Hudson not forgetting Naomi Watts, Eva Mendez, Lauren Hutton, Elsa Pataki, Claudia...
