Celebrations for New York Fashion week kicked off with Cond� Nast’s Fashion Rocks at Radio City Music Hall. Recognising the relationship between fashion and music, and bringing together some of the biggest stars of both sectors, Fashion Rocks really rocked. None of the stars held back with their outfits.

Beyonce and Gwen Stefani didn�t miss the promotional opportunity and used the event to model their lines. Destiny’s child attended the concert wearing designs from Beyonce’s and her mothers label “House of Dereon”, while Gwen wore a dress from her label L.A.M.B. Alicia Keys looked stunning in a beautiful tangerine dress by Max Azria.

Billy Idol, Duran Duran, David Bowie and Nelly were just a few of the names who performed on the night. Tim McGraw opened the evening with a performance of “My Old Friend” as a tribute to the victim�s in New Orleans, Louisana.

Although the concert was a success, the after party didnt get much praise and was slammed as being tasteless.

According to WWD, The House of Deréon, the fashion brand founded by mother and daughter Beyoncé and Tina Knowles confirmed that they would be adding small leather goods and handbags to their collection under a licensing agreement with Accessory Exchange. The collection which will range from contemporary to casual will be sold alongside the footwear in the more higher end stores with prices ranging from $90 to $300.

Beyoncé has said of the venture into accessories,

“In the same way that lighting and sets and sound design are necessary for an engaging concert performance, handbags harmonize with shoes and other accessories to create an unforgettable look,” she said.

Originally scheduled to be shown in September during fashion week, the brand has moved its presentation to February when it will make its catwalk debut.

In aid of VH1’s save the music charity Beyonce will be auctioning off her famous gowns, mostly designed by her mother Tina Knowles. Also included in the collection for auction is the chain top worn on the cover of her solo alubm Dangerously in Love.

Actress Halle Berry and singer Beyonce Knowles are the most popular celebrity endorsers, topping a list that includes Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake and Eminem, U.S. advertising agency and marketing executives said in a survey.

So it looks like Beyoncé has taken back her comments made about the “Maddonna and Britney kiss” claiming she was misquoted.

“I have never judged anyone based on his or her sexual orientation,” she said.

“I have a lot of gay and lesbian fans and I love them no differently than my straight fans.”
