Solange Knowles signs to Next Model Management

Beyonce isn’t the only Knowles girl the world is currently obsessed with. Queen Bey’s younger sister Solange Knowles – a musician, model and actress in her own right – has just been snapped up by Next Model Management, the same people who signed up and coming indie singer Lana Del Rey a couple of weeks ago.

“Artistic expression is invaluable to me in all walks of my career and I am so excited to continue to develop this path along with such an amazing team at Next Model Management,” Solange told Vogue. “I feel right at home working with people who have worked beside such creative forces in the world.”

Looks like Next are keen to expand and update their books, and we can totally get where they are coming from signing the littler Knowles girl. After all, anyone from the same gene pool as Beyonce has to have something special, right?

Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcome beautiful baby girl named Blue Ivy Carter

She’s here! Yep, Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s much awaited baby girl has arrived and she’s already been dubbed “The most beautiful girl in the world” on twitter by her gushing Aunty Solange.

Her name? Blue Ivy Carter. Following in the tradition of many a celeb, the pair have opted for an unconventional name. Thoughts? We love it.

According to E!Online the singer went down the C-section route and gave birth to their baby daughter last night at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

Reports state that naturally Jay-Z was by Bey’s side while family and friends waited in a private wing tucking into takeaway food and celebrating with red wine.

Well, we must say this is a great way to start 2012 for the Carters.

And with the gorgeous Beyoncé and the talented Jay-Z as parents (and not to mention a ton of celeb friends who will no doubt spoil her rotten) Blue Ivy Carter is one seriously lucky girl.

It’s getting towards the end of the year and we’ve been overcome by a sudden sense of contemplativeness.

While New Year might bring resolutions, diets and silly foil hats, there’s something it also brings that we’re not ashamed to love – yes, best of lists!

Here at MFL we like a yearly round up just much as the next publication, but ours is, like, so much more fun because it involves clothes and celebrities. What’s not to love?

We took a look through the year’s celebrity style hits to sift out the best from the average. So, fasten your seatbelt, kids, here’s our run through of this year’s best dressed…

Alexa Chung in Miu Miu

Looking like a grown up school girl, we loved Alexa Chung’s Miu Miu ensemble at the label’s spring/summer 2012 show in Paris earlier this year – no wonder she scooped the Style Icon Award for a second year running!

Jessica Alba in Dolce & Gabbana

Jessica Alba rarely puts a foot out of place and looks so pretty at a Swarovski party in California. Her lace Dolce & Gabbana dress combined with lashings of gems reminded us why we love Jess so much.

Nicole Richie in Stella McCartney

Kick starting us into the festive mood this year, style queen Nicole Richie wowed us in her Stella McCartney poppy red skirt and sweater combo. Known for her laid-back boho style, she gave us a ladylike look we hadn’t seen from her in a long while.

Selena Gomez in Marchesa

Ladies and Gentlemen, the MFL award for Best Newcomer goes to 19-year-old Selena Gomez. Wearing this angelic Marchesa dress, she somehow looked girly and feminine whilst maintaining an air of sophistication. We predict big things!

Olivia Palermo in Tibi

Queen of accessorising, no best dressed is complete without Olivia Palermo. She’s given us so many hits this year, but her leather Tibi shorts, grey grandad shirt and satin emerald heels are an expert lesson in laid-back luxe.

Miranda Kerr in Michael Kors

Yeah we know, it’s a hard life for Miranda Kerr – she has to travel the world doing that modelling malarkey, is forced to put up this that Orlando Bloom fella and is required to wear designer clothes every day. Poor lamb. Even with all her woes she always manages to get it spot on. We loved her in this pink strapless Michael Kors number.

If you don’t like Beyoncé there is something seriously wrong with you, girlfriend – she’s all kinds of fabulous, and the fact she’s expecting a baby Bey makes us love her even more. Never seen without her mountains of bling and uber-glam gowns on the red carpet, she always looks a treat. This sparkly gold number didn’t disappoint and is signature Beyoncé.

Anne Hathaway in Alexander McQueen

If this was the year of McQueen, Anne Hathaway definitely got the memo; the actress looked slick in this resort 2012 white lace dress.

Florence Welch in Gucci

Looking like an ethereal angel is not easy but Florence Welsh always manages to do it with absolute ease. Wearing this yellow silk chiffon from Gucci on her North American tour she proved she was one of the best dressed ladies in music…

Blake Lively in Dolce & Gabbana

Oh, Blake! Does she ever put a foot wrong? We loved her in this super-sexy black lace and floral bustier dress from Dolce & Gabbana, complete with clashing printed Louboutins.

Beyonce voted world’s most stylish mother-to-be

Bootylicious singing superstar Beyonce Knowles has been voted the world’s most stylish mother-to-be, topping a fashion poll conducted by British bag and accessories company, Josoblu.

“Considering Beyonce is one of the most glamorous women in the world and constantly appears in best dressed lists, it is only fitting that she tops the poll for fashionable mothers to be,” a spokesperson for the site said. “Even though this is her first pregnancy it hasn’t stopped Beyonce rocking the highest heels or sparkly numbers – it proves to women that pregnancy can be stylish.”

Beyonce is living proof that women can still be every bit as sexy while pregnant as they were pre-bump; we are yet to see our Bey in maternity jeans or comfortable jogger bottoms and if she continues to dress the way she has done throughout her pregnancy so far, we don’t think we are likely to either.

Other yummy mummies-to-be who were recognised in the poll were The Saturday’s singer Una Healey who came second, and Amanda Holden and Jennifer Garner, who came third and fourth respectively.

We feel Victoria Beckham deserves one of the top spots too, but other than that, we think the poll is spot on! Do you agree?

Beyonce finally shows fans her wedding dress (three years later)

The April 2008 nuptials of singing superstar Beyonce and rapper Jay-Z were shrouded in secrecy, without so much as a peep from anyone about what the wedding dress looked like – but now that’s all changed.

Beyonce has just released a montage video compiled of some of her most iconic moments for her brand new DVD Live At Roseland Elements, and there are a few moments which offer fans a sneak peek at her lavish wedding gown.

From what we can see, it was everything we expected it to be and more – it accentuated her curves beautifully, complemented her bootylicious figure and generally had the ultimate wow factor with its huge ruffled train.

Queen Bey is seen trying on the dress sporting the natural look, so whether this was actually taken on the big day itself is another question.

Still, at least we have a better insight into what Jay-Z’s blushing bride looked like and we stand by our opinions that Beyonce never fails to look the picture of perfection.

Women find curvy celebs sexier than slim stars

Think it’s the slim stars women are striving to look like? Think again: according to a new survey, it’s the curvy celebs women find the sexiest.

Online plus size store OneStopPlus surveyed 10,000 women about body image and fashion, and the results revealed they found curvier celebrities like Beyonce, Sofia Vergara and Kim Kardashian to be sexier than the considerably less curvy Katie Holmes and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Marilyn Monroe topped the poll for ‘sexiest celebrity’ by a landslide and came a close third for ‘best fashion sense’ (Kim Kardashian and Beyonce pipped her to the post), while Katie Holmes, Christina Hendricks and Gossip Girl Blake Lively fell towards the bottom of both lists.

“How refreshing to find a survey that actually shows that curvier women are more desirable,” plus size model Katie Green, who has been campaigning against size zero, said.

“Marilyn Monroe set the standard all the way back in the 50′s, and I’m glad that peoples perceptions haven’t changed! I feel this sort of public information will make a significant contribution to women’s health.”

Well, Katie Green and those 10,000 women have had their say, but what do you guys think: who’s the sexiest celeb?
