Breast Cancer Awareness: Chevron Cars

by Michele Obi on October 16, 2007

courage_breast_cancer_final.jpgApologies for the late post…I’ve been meaning to blog about Breast Cancer Awareness for the past week but unfortunately procrastination got the better of me. There are many wonderful organisations out there that are showing their support but I’d like to bring to your attention one which caught my eye.

Since 2001 Chevron has promoted the awareness of breast cancer through the release of a limited edition toy car. The cute car is re-designed every year and given a name with significance. Past names have been Hope, Cherish and Promise. For 2007, Chevron has released Courage and as part of a yearly tradition the toy car is emblazoned with a pink ribbon reminding us to “Think Pink”. Courage, $7.99 is available for purchase at Chevroncars.com and 100% of the proceeds are donated to the Komen foundation. For more information click here.

Kate’s kiss for Jemima

by Michele Obi on May 17, 2006

Topshop boss Philip Green is a very lucky man indeed, after bidding and winning a kiss with Kate Moss for £60,000 the multi-millionaire decided he would much rather see the supermodel kiss Jemima Khan (Hugh Grant’s girlfriend) instead.

Both women must have enjoyed the experience as it lasted for over 60 seconds…unfortunately pics of the steamy kiss cant be published. Instead they will be sold, with all proceeds from the sale going to Hoping Foundation for Palestinian refugee children whom the auction was held in aid of.

Happy 10th Anniversary

by Michele Obi on April 25, 2006

It’s been 10 years since charity Fashion Targets Breast Cancer was launched and to celebrate they’ve enlisted top photographer David Bailey, to take pics of top models Helena Christensen, Lily Cole, Claudia Schiffer, Yasmin Le Bon and more.

Founded by designer Ralph Lauren after his friend, Nina Hyde, fashion editor of the Washington post died of breast cancer. Fashion Targets Breast Cancer is now the UK’s leading fashion charity and has raised £6.5 million in fundraising activities and t-shirt sales. The bullseye target made famous from its conception in 1996 through the Breakthrough Breast Cancer campaign has been turned to gold and t-shirts are now on sale.

“It has been great to work with these 10 strong-willed women to mark the 10th anniversary of Fashion Targets Breast Cancer - make sure you go and buy your T-shirt today and show your support of Breakthrough’s important breast cancer research and education work.” - David Bailey
