First Look at the No.1 Jenny Packham collection for Debenhams

Boy, do we have a treat for you this Tuesday morning. We told you a few weeks ago that Jenny Packham would be teaming up with Debenhams to create a more affordable collection comprised of womenswear, accessories and childrenswear, and here we are with a very exciting sneak peek at one of the designs from the “No.1 Jenny Packham collection!

What do we think? On first glance, we honestly can’t set this more affordable dress apart from the high-end versions favoured by the likes of Angelina Jolie and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton – which is what we think Jenny Packham aspired to do from the second she took on this project.

“My aim always is to design styles that create glamour and excitement whether it is for the red carpet or a teenage prom,” the designer said. “My collaboration with Debenhams is a great opportunity for me to offer my signature style at an attainable price.”

And true to her word, the Jenny Packham detail is very apparent in the design we see before us.

Eight dresses will make their debut in April, with the rest making an appearance in the summer! Prices range from £85 to £160 – keep your eyes peeled for more peeks at the collection!

Jenny Packham designs capsule collection for Debenhams!

No, your eyes haven’t deceived you, Jenny Packham really IS designing a capsule collection for British department store Debenhams, which is expected to launch as early as this spring!

The London-based designer will follow in the footsteps of Matthew Williamson, Jonathan Saunders and Roksanda Ilincic, who have all created extremely popular capsule collections for Debenhams.

This means that we can all finally get the chance to know what it feels like to be draped in Jenny Packham, the designer the hottest celebs turn to for the most star-studded of occasions.

Kate Beckinsale and Kate Winslet are famous fans of Jenny Packham, as well as real and fictional royalty Kate Middleton and Blair Waldorf respectively.

Jenny Packham’s capsule collection will comprise of occasionwear and jewellery, and as soon as we know the ETA of it, will literally be counting down the days until it hits stores.

Are Kate Moss and daughter Lila Grace creating a tween range for Debenhams?

Who doesn’t love a bit of casual hearsay just before Christmas? A host of blogs and publications are speculating that, akin to a lot of celebrities this year, Kate Moss will once again be jumping on the collaborative bandwagon, this time teaming up with her very beautiful nine-year-old daughter Lila Grace to create a tweenage clothing range.

The pair will reportedly be working with British department store Debenhams for the range which has been rumoured to launch in the summer.

“Lila is adamant the range will be very traditional and English rose-esque in feel,” a source apparently told the Daily Mirror newspaper. “Lila doesn’t want to produce chavvy clothes. Kate and Lila Grace will get cracking on designs over the festive period, mulling over ideas at Kate’s Cotswolds’ pad.”

Before you get all excited though, we’d like to point out that there are also a number of publications that believe the story is completely false, with Elle UK and Fashion Etc getting in contact with Debenhams, who apparently denied the collaboration was happening.

But if history has taught us anything, it’s that you won’t always get the truth if the timing isn’t right. Remember how many times Sarah Burton denied she was making Kate Middleton’s wedding dress?

Maybe Debenhams was hoping to make a big announcement in the new year or the minor details are still being ironed out? Either way… we’ll say no more.

Tried & Tested: Debenhams Triple Boost bra

Some things just need a boost: my shoe wardrobe, the ailing economy and the weather, to name but a few. So we decided to boost something closer to home and put the Debenhams Triple Boost Bra to the test.

Promising me a (much needed) ‘boob job in a bra’, the padded push up bra boasts the latest cleavage enhancing technology in the form of a three-step cleavage revolution. If it’s all sounding too technical, I’ll break it down for you.

The ‘miracle-working’ bra came with a mini diagram explaining how I could achieve the ample bosoms I’ve longed for since my teen years.

Step 1: the soft foam cushion enhances the overall shape; step 2: the medium foam cushion lifts the bust; step 3: the firm foam provides a mega side push and lift. And though the three foam inserts inside the cup resembled large pebbles, they worked nonetheless.

The Triple Boost bra felt comfortable and didn’t give that ‘compressed’ feeling I generally get when slipping into bust boosters for the entire day. Immediately after wearing the bra, I looked in the mirror to assess my newly ample bust area and instantly noticed an impressive difference: my bust had visibly been lifted as promised by the three-step technology.

I wore the Triple Boost bra with a deep v-necked dress – the type of neckline I usually avoid due to a lack of sufficient cleavage to do it any justice – and lasted the whole day thanks to my new found confidence (in a bra!).

Although the Triple Boost Bra is comfortable, I would say it’s better suited for wearing under an evening look, rather than in the day.

For someone like me, who needs a boob job pretty much all the time, it was fine, but for the slightly bigger-busted ladies who are just looking for a gentle lift, something with a little less padding may work better.

Overall, the comfort factor, the boob-boosting benefits, the universal colour and spotted self-print makes this bra a firm favourite in my lingerie wardrobe – and I’d definitely recommend it for women who share my dilemma in wanting a lift, minus the expensively seedy plastic surgeon.

Beauty look of the week: Bip Ling

With Forever 21 opening its doors in London this month and the announcement of ‘it’ girl Bip Ling as its spokes-model, we’re taking a look at her fun, flirty style for a little beauty inspiration.

Being a model, DJ and fashion blogger, its safe to say Bip loves to party and having fun is part of her job description, so if you’re going out to a jazzy disco or just feeling rather flirtatious, we reckon Bip’s cutesy style is a great one to duplicate.

Her bubbly and fun-loving personality is paralleled in this signature look – at the Fashion For Relief launch in London a few months ago – using splashes of colour and dark, defined eyes for drama.

The main ingredient to Bip’s look is the bright lips. Mac’s Lady Danger is the perfect choice, not only because of its name, but the slightly-tangy red injects a little fun into the usually classic red lip.

To get Bip’s defined eyes, you need a dark eyeliner that you can manipulate into the exact place you want and trust it will stay there till the early hours of the morning. Bobbi Brown’s long wear gel eyeliner will do just that – play with catlike flicks, like Bip’s done here, for even more definition.
