andywarhol_010608.jpgFollowing in the footsteps of Levi Strauss & Co. (the first denim brand to use the Andy Warhol prints in their ‘Warhol Factory X’ denim collection a couple of years ago), Pepe Jeans London is creating a 250-piece denim and accessory collection inspired by Andy Warhol’s artistic style.

The Andy Warhol Collection by Pepe will consist of two separate collections – Pop and Factory (it all sounds a bit Sienna Miller, doesn’t it?) – and will include both men and women’s looks.

Thanks for all of your advice, ladies! As many of you suggested, I found my answer to my skinny jean dilemma in a fabulous pair by J-Brand. Before my shopping trip to Barneys, I braced myself for a few hours of trying on jeans as I can never, ever find a pair that I like, so I asked a friend to come along (she wears skinny jeans almost exclusively , owns a pair by all of the major denim designers, and also recommended J Brand). She quickly selected a few pairs for me to try on, and I bought the first pair I pulled on.

Help: Which brand make the best skinny jeans?

I feel like a lot of mags have been pushing the whole high-waisted super wide-legged trouser look, and even when normally fashion-forward celebs try on this trend I’m just not getting it.

These women have personal trainers and eat tiny meals (I don’t believe the “I eat whatever I want” line for half a second), meaning their bodies are pretty much flawless, and in my opinion the high-waisted style looks dowdy even on them. Translation: the high-waisted trend is not going to work for us regular folk.

Trend Alert: Dream in denim

Denim seems to be having a bit of a moment. More than usual, that is. Pale and, more alarmingly, stonewash denim is invading our nation’s streets and magazines at a swift pace.

The current incarnation of “it” denim seems to be a hybrid between a kind of 90’s shredded tomboy (see Christopher Kane S/S 08) and hippy pilgrimage to 70’s Marrakech (see pale wide legged flares, well, everywhere). This eclectic denim lovechild is getting me excited about a fabric that I have never been particularly keen on ( I’m not really a jeans and t-shirt type of girl).

OK, so you cringed this summer when you saw Jessica Simpson sporting an ill-fitting pair of high-waisted, wide-legged jeans. Who didn’t? After that, you swore that you would never give the 70’s inspired trend a go. But now that the initial shock has worn off and designers have had the sensibility to come up with more form-friendly and wearable versions of the jeans, maybe its time to reconsider. If you’re ready to take the plunge, we think that the 18th Amendment Colbert ‘Speak easy’ jeans are a good way to dip your toes in without getting too wet. £165, available at Browns.
