“Since my cancer diagnosis, my whole world changed. I have learned and experienced so much about myself and others.” - Kylie Minogue

After battling cancer for 18 months, Kylie has well and truly comeback! With a little support from fashion, she’s launched her new perfume called Darling, played guest editor at Australian Vogue and graced the cover of UK Vogue with beautiful shots by Karl Lagerfeld. However her showgirl tour at the weekend was her biggest fashion extravaganza yet…

Kylie (Showgirl tour)
Greeting fans with a big “Good evening Sydney” Kylie took to the stage wearing a pink head-dress and a pink jewelled bodice created by John Galliano. Feathers were imported from the Lido Theatre in Paris specially for the show in which Kylie changed eight times into costumes from Pucci, Dolce and Gabbana, and Karl Lagerfeld. This was the first of 20 more concerts in Australia and was a triumphant success for the pop princess.

In honour of Kylie the V&A Museum will be holding a special exhibtion running from 8 February 2007 to 10 June 2007 which will explore her image and career change over the span of her career. On show will be 45 costumes along with accessories, sound and video and photos.

Armani dressed England for World Cup

Looks like the World Cup is going to be a very fashionable affair with Dolce and Gabbana dressing the Italians and Giorgio Armani taking charge of the English team.

Keeping the wardrobe very classic and blue, the Italian designer will be kitting the team out in navy wool suits, and light blue ties. Casual wear will consist of blue trousers and polo shirts, accessorised with a divers watch, wrap around sunglasses, a clutch bag and personalised cufflinks bearing each players shirt number. We can’t wait…and neither can Armani by the sounds of it, the designer spoke of his admiration for the football players…..

“I’ve enjoyed dressing soccer stars for many years. In many ways, they are the modern-day gladiators. Both on and off the field they have become icons. As a designer, it’s always good to stretch yourself, and the challenge of dressing people whose bodies are fine-tuned and developed is one that I particularly enjoy”

“Icon is a much-abused word these days, but Halle Berry exceeds the criteria, says Giorgio Armani. She is a force of nature with an effortless grace. Emanuel Ungaro offers his take: “Hers is an unconventional but uniquely compelling femininity.”

Berry tells me at the racks. “This season I’ve been into Dolce & Gabbana myself, but I’m sort of loyal to no one and like them all. I’m a fashion slut.”

“Aren’t we all”
