As ubiquitous as the images from “The Edge of Love” (the upcoming film about poet Dylan Thomas starring Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller) have become, I can’t help but love them so. I remain utterly seduced by the rugged 40s flowers that the girls appear to be, despite the slight bitterness that the film has turned what is essentially my day to day look of choice (floral dresses, woolly cardigans and a smudge of lipstick) into a fashion cliche.

Quite surprised at the success of “The Devil wears Prada”. According to reviews Meryl Streep gives a very impressive performance as Miranda Priestly, the boss from hell who’s said to bear a resemblance to US Vogue editor Anna Wintour. So much so that some designers were unwilling to lend their designs to the movie, for fear of getting on the wrong side of Ms Wintour.

William Golding presented numerous themes and basic ideas that give the reader something to think about. One of the most basic and obvious themes is that society holds everyone together, and without these conditions, our ideals, values, and the basics of right and wrong are lost. Without society’s rigid rules, anarchy and savagery can come to light.
Golding is also showing that morals come directly from our surroundings, and if there is no civilization around us, we will lose these values.
