For Doré‘s debut campaign, she shot three models in Love Moschino’s next season offerings on the streets of Milan – but she continued the collaboration afterwards back at artistic director Rossella Jardini’s flat, a personal ambition of hers since they met in Milan a few months back.

“I immediately liked her refined style and her Italian humour,” Doré wrote on her blog, where she posted the portraits she took of Rossella in her Milanese flat alongside photos of her home. “I loved the mix of elegance and sense of humour that can only be found in Rossella’s universe.”

The partnership initially started with vintage jewellery, design objects, books, pictures and websites – an attempt at fusing old and new media, hence getting Garance on board for the campaign – but we have a feeling it’ll continue well into the sun.

There’s quite a controversial whirlwind surrounding Garance Dore at the moment, what with her comments on plus-size models the other week and all, but this week she’s sharing her efforts to be honest about fashion, though it means her sometimes getting told off by publicists.

“Last year I did videos of the fashion shows where I filmed every show and only put on my blog the shows I like. The brands they don’t like that so they call me and ask me ‘why there isn’t video of my show, you were invited’ and I have to say ‘it didn’t work, I filmed it bad’,” she tells the Cut. “It’s going to be difficult but it’s my selection and if they’re not happy they shout but what do they want from me? You’re not my friend and even if you are we are professionals and it’s a job. And they think its ok after that.”

She’s finding out – and pretty fast, after last week – that she can’t please everyone, but so long as she pleases her fans she’ll be satisfied.

“I want have the same kind of trust like Cathy Horyn. I don’t care about getting banned because I want to show the fans trust. I’m trying to have ethics.”

It’s a tough life.

So curvy models are all the rage, or at least they were at the Autumn/Winter shows with the likes of Prada, Marc Jacobs and Giles Deacon championing them. But they’re not for everyone, and they’re certainly not for Garance Dore.

The French illustrator-come-blogger has thrown her two cents worth into the plus-size debate this morning, though frankly, we rather wish she hadn’t.

“It should not be such a big deal to show women with different bodies, but sometimes it’s treated like a bit of joke, or for shock, like the plus-size models on the runway in the UK Fashion Week,” said Garance, no doubt referring to Mark Fast. “It’s not such a good thing to show plus-size because it’s not really physically healthy and not always flattering to fashion.”

Oh, sure, because a size 0 is fighting fit. Garance, we hate to break it to you, but the last time we checked a UK size 12 is actually a healthy body size.

“I think it’s too much and almost naive of the fashion industry,” she added, according to Vogue UK, “because it would be nice in a few years that the idea of different body shapes is normal, but right now it’s not quite there yet.”

God forbid the macaroon that passes her mouth – though come back in three years and she may have scoffed the box.

*NB – it’s not.

They’re fast becoming a fashion power house are the street-style sweethearts, but it seems the Sartorialist’s Scott Schuman and his illustrator-come-blogger girlfriend Garance Dore are ready for their next joint venture: TV.

And though it would seem the project is still very much in the beginning stages, Garance has been spilling a few beans about the show – though, truth be told, her dream is actually to make a movie “about girls and life and fashion”.

But for now, TV is where it’s at, even if she’s not sure exactly where ‘at’ is.

“We’re working on a TV show with Scott,” she tells the Huffington Post. “We don’t know yet exactly what form it’s going to have. It’s the same thing: why would we do a classic TV show, when the world is changing? And the world of media is changing? So we are working on the concept. We want something that talks to the people very easily and that you can see on the Internet.”

Fashion fans will be pleased to hear, however, that it’s likely to be geared around all things super-stylish.

“The world is in such little pieces now and you take your information from everywhere,” she explains. “I’d like to go ask people I trust, “Who’s a great musician?” and then maybe meet the musician and then do the same with fashion or food. I think it will be more fashion-oriented.”

Watch this space.

Yesterday we were invited to a private exhibition of Garance Dore’s illustrations and photography at the pop-up Gap 1969 store in Kingly Street.

To celebrate 40 years of the denim label, French illustrator and photographer Garance has created a series of sketches and street style photography marking Gap‘s heritage , just one of Gap‘s collaborations with designers and artists to mark its anniversary. As well as the exhibition, Garance has also designed a range of exclusive limited edition T shirts for the store featuring some of her unique sketches, which were on display and available to buy last night.

It was a beautiful exhibition, presented in a rustic industrial styled room. Photographs mounted on every wall were displayed alongside large illustrations of pretty girls in her signature pen-sketched style as well as scribbles of her inspiration general thoughts. Her sketches are very reminiscent of Barbara Hulanicki’s penned drawings, which is unsurprising considering the Seventies is the illustrator’s favourite decade.

What’s great about Garance is her honesty; her scribbles of thoughts are so free-flowing, so down-to-earth and so, well, honest. There’s no pretence where Garance is concerned; she doesn’t attempt to write profound fashion statements or set herself up as some famed fashionista, she simply shares her thoughts as a fashion lover and does so with such passion. Garance’s designs are real and accessible, which is really quite refreshing to see, and it’s this that seems to resonate with her followers.

The champagne flowed, people chatted like they were old friends (well, most of them probably were), and almost everyone left a T shirt heavier.
