We really wanted to post this yesterday, but didn’t want to overwhelm you with too much Blake Lively. Oh, who are we kidding, you can never have too much, and you would have loved it!

Ms Lively proved that she can do demure, sophisticated elegance as well as full-on sexiness as she attended the launch of Godiva’s Valentine’s Day competition in New York, wearing a beyond stunning Valentino shift dress, expertly paired with a lavender Valentino pencil skirt. Why have one Valentino when you can have two, eh?

We were reading cheeky snippets from her interview with Elle magazine yesterday, and loved the part where she said she sends best pal Christian Louboutin pictures of her outfit so he can tell her what shoes to wear with it.

So, it therefore comes as no surprise to learn that she is sporting some gorgeous grey Christian Louboutin heels with her Valentino… we couldn’t think of a better match!

Ah, suddenly all is right with the world again. After a painfully long mid-season break, Gossip Girl returned to our screens this week, and now one of its main stars has returned to our magazine covers! 

Blake Lively, aka Serena van der Woodsen, is posing beautifully for the Elle US March 2012 front cover in a halter-neck Victoria Beckham dress – a fine, fine choice of cover star for a March issue we must say.

Although we feel this layout and colour scheme is a little “been there, done that” (it kind of reminds of us Britney Spears’ Harper’s Bazaar cover from June 2011 with the long, flowing blonde locks, sideways posing and white ensemble) but as always, Ms Lively has brought something new to the table and has made it work for her.

Tom Munro has captured Miss Lively at her best angles (which, as it happens, is all of them!) in a fine selection of hot-off-the-runway clothes from the likes of Isabel Marant, Victoria Beckham and Michael Kors.

Blake Lively is more than just a pretty face (and gorgeous body), as she provided a very real – and sometimes downright funny – interview to accompany her editorial pictures.  Our favourite snippet came while she was discussing having children…

“I hope to have a few girls one day,” she said. “If not girls, they better be trannies. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated.”

Amen! The March 2012 issue of Elle magazine is very fittingly out on Valentine’s Day!

And the bride wore Vera Wang! As if Golden Globes fever wasn’t enough to excite us today, Blair Waldorf’s wedding dress designer has finally been revealed and we are thrilled to find out it’s none other than Vera Wang!

Vera Wang never fails to create beauty, and with one of the top beauties of the upper east side walking down the aisle in the dress, it’s nothing short of a masterpiece. The bridesmaids’ dresses are equally as breathtaking, and if you think they look rather familiar, it’s because they’re from the White by Vera Wang for David Bridal collection, which retail for just $198 each! Serena van der Woodsen, i.e. Blair’s maid of honour, went for an organza gown from Vera Wang’s spring/summer 2012 collection.

In true Gossip Girl fashion, we know that the wedding won’t go as smoothly as planned (especially since pictures have surfaced which show Blair fleeing the wedding – she’s even looking less blushing and more pensive in the picture above) so we can’t wait to see how events will unfold.

And keep your eyes peeled for Vera Wang, as the lady herself even makes a cameo on the show!

Blake Lively is just one of those people that shouldn’t ever have a problem getting out of bed in the morning. Just think: The Gossip Girl star is BFFs with the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour, has dated some of Hollywood’s hottest and most eligible bachelors (Leonardo Dicaprio, Ryan Reynolds… need we go on?) and has an ever-expanding CV which is already oozing with tip top acting and modelling gigs.  

And to add to all of that, she got the chance to parade around the Gossip Girl set while toting the Mulberry Travel Camera bag, i.e. a truly scrumptious piece of arm candy… and we are ever so slightly jealous to say the least.

The gorgeous bag, which is fresh from the spring/summer 2012 collection, doesn’t officially hit stores until February, but of course Serena van der Woodsen wouldn’t have a problem getting her hands on it early either!

Gossip Girl is set to return to our screens later this month – cannot wait!

As her on-screen ego Serena van der Woodsen, we are used to seeing Blake Lively strutting around on set in all manner of Lavin, Chanel and Louboutin. That’s why, when this picture of Blake landed on our desk, we couldn’t believe how dressed down the 24-year-old looked.

She looked effortlessly cool as she hung around in New York wearing dark blue skinny jeans, a sparkly red and black striped sweater and hooded leather jacket. It looks like she hung up her heels for the day too, instead opting for a pair of tough looking flat boots.

We especially love her ultra glitzy top – who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle in December, after all?!

While we’re sure Blake hasn’t retired from her designer threads permanently, it’s good to see her looking so laid-back and stylish. Top marks also for her natural hair and makeup, too.

Ah, this New York socialite malarkey looks like a hard life…

Forget Kate Middleton and Twilight‘s Bella Swan, the real big wedding of the year is on New York’s Upper East Side, with Blair Waldorf playing the role of the blushing bride on our beloved Gossip Girl.

What do you think of the first picture of the future princess in her wedding get-up?  We think she looks breathtaking, like a princess straight out of a fairytale the way Blair always wanted. Even though Leighton Meester is small and petite all over, it’s nice to see her character in a wedding dress with a full skirt, especially since a figure-hugging, slinky silhouette would have also complemented her figure beautifully.

Even though Blair channels our very own Duchess of Cambridge with her long, tousled, wavy brown locks, we (personally) would have preferred to see her with a slightly more sophisticated updo – it is a royal wedding after all – but perhaps this look worked better for what we believe is a runaway bride style scene, which was filmed in New York earlier this week. (Other pictures have emerged depicting what looks like Blair fleeing her wedding – scandal!)

So, who had the honour of creating the all-important wedding dress? The designer hasn’t been confirmed, although Grazia speculates it could be Vera Wang as Leighton is the face of her Lovestruck fragrance, while InStyle thinks it’s Monique Lhuillier, as the gown closely resembles the Emma dress from the ready-to-wear collection.

All will be revealed very soon. In the meantime, Gossip Girl is on ITV2 at 8pm tonight so we can get our “scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite” fix.

Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio was reportedly smitten with 19-year-old American model Karlie Kloss, as he watched her make her Victoria’s Secret runway debut at the annual show last week. 

“He couldn’t take his eyes off her,” a source told the New York Post. “He walked back and forth three times at the party looking for prospects at the table cluttered with VS models but, after no luck, he settled at the ‘bachelors’ end of the room lady-less.”

Poor Leo! Although we assume he was just having an off night, as Victoria’s Secret models Gisele Bündchen and Bar Refaeli are on his impressive list of gorgeous former girlfriends.

And let’s not forget that his latest squeeze was none other than Gossip Girl Blake Lively, so we have no doubt that Leo knows how to woo the ladies.
