With the first rays of real sunlight creeping in my dusty window comes the faint but enchanting prospect that summer might be just around the corner. Whilst sandals and bikinis might not be quite on the cards, I will settle for the temperature creeping up just enough to cast off my winter coat and begin gallavanting about in a little summer jacket.

To declare that the weather is unpredicatable right now, would be an understatement. Just last Friday, here in London, hailstones turned to full blown sunshine in the space of a couple of hours.

Leather bombers are making a come back in Hollywood, with all of the young celebs rockin’ them over jeans and t-shirts, or even, over more formal red carpet looks. While there’s the slight but scary chance of looking like an extra from an 80’s pop video (”Thriller” comes to mind), if you throw on the right one, you’ll be able to pull off an effortlessly cool and edgy, city-chick vibe.
I love this tumbled suede cropped jacket by Charlotte Ronson as a toned down alternative to the traditional bomber look. It gives off a similar tough-girl vibe, but with a refined and almost demure flair and would top off almost any casual look for Spring, from mini dresses to wide-leg jeans with your favorite t-shirt. $466 available at Urban Outfitters.

It’s become pretty clear that whatever Kate Moss is photographed in, becomes an instantaneous ‘must-have’ for girls everywhere. So when the supermodel was recently spotted (on a number of separate occasions) perfecting a fitted tuxedo jacket look, the masculine styling became an overnight wardrobe staple and flew off the shelves at her label, for Topshop.

This Doo.Ri khaki trench coat is absolutely stunning and would be a great addition to any Spring wardrobe. With the very girly silhouette highlighted by the demure waist band, blouson sleeves and full pleating on the skirt, this coat is a classic and a strong stand-alone piece. The best part? The little capelet can be detached and worn separately. Two coats for the price of one? Brilliant! $1,995 available at Bergdorf Goodman.

While others are drooling over capes, military style jackets and duvet coats, we’re secretly lusting after this bubble jacket by Lulu and Red. Isn’t it just gorgeous? The ribbon detail adds a cute touch to what has got to be one of the finer jackets around at the moment. Granted it’s unlikely to keep us warm and cozy, especially with these ruthless winds. But it is a keeper for spring. £55 available at Lulu and Red

All we want for Christmas is? This AMAZING black leather jacket by Amanda Wakeley. We don’t think its too much to ask for, especially as its been reduced from £1250.00 to £500.00 over at Koodos making it an ideal investment. Plus it would look SO good with the boots we recently purchased from Office and don’t get us started on how much we love the batwing sleeves! Santa are you listening?!…

So it’s not exactly breaking news that Sienna Miller along with her sister Savannah have launched a label called “Twenty8Twelve“. After celebrating with a party in New York, the sisters brought the festivities to London with a private party to mark the opening of their new boutique in Notting Hill. Pictures from the collection surfaced a while ago and after numerous peeks I can’t seem to form any concrete opinion about the line. Do I love it, hate it or feel indifferent? I really don’t know. Pieces that have been worn by the Miller sisters at parties or in editorial pics, look fab. But standard images like these, just fail to impress.

With the British weather currently in chaos, we may be trading our bikini and beach bag for thermals and a ‘Kag-in-a-bag’. With flood warnings and wind speed dominating the forecast, and little hope of a full repeat of last years glorious weather the Summer’s trends appear to be going to waste. That said here are a few fashion pieces that will reign in the rain:
Glastonbury’s barely over but the festival look is still a go; this electric blue parka, £70 from Topshop is loud enough to brighten up any dreary day.
