The nights are drawing in and the days are getting colder, yes ladies it’s time to start pulling your winter wardrobe forward from the recesses of the cupboard. Personally I’ve always been a winter person, and my wardrobe certainly reflects this, in fact I often find myself counting down the weeks until I can pull out my Dior duffle coat, Burberry earmuffs and Louboutin knee high-boots again (it’s not long now - hooray!).

The 70s invasion has continued to dominate the catwalks. We’ve seen flares, stars and stripes, graphic t-shirts not to mention those lumberjack shirts and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a crop top or two. Well now you can welcome the shag pile, and this isn’t a shag pile for your floor oh no, this one you’re going to wear.

We’ve been awaiting

With the first rays of real sunlight creeping in my dusty window comes the faint but enchanting prospect that summer might be just around the corner. Whilst sandals and bikinis might not be quite on the cards, I will settle for the temperature creeping up just enough to cast off my winter coat and begin gallavanting about in a little summer jacket.

To declare that the weather is unpredicatable right now, would be an understatement. Just last Friday, here in London, hailstones turned to full blown sunshine in the space of a couple of hours.

Leather bombers are making a come back in Hollywood, with all of the young celebs rockin’ them over jeans and t-shirts, or even, over more formal red carpet looks. While there’s the slight but scary chance of looking like an extra from an 80’s pop video (”Thriller” comes to mind), if you throw on the right one, you’ll be able to pull off an effortlessly cool and edgy, city-chick vibe.
