Description: A leave in spray conditioner for fine hair, it “provides essential nourishment and protects the fibre against damage, in the morning the hair feels soft, looks radiant and renewed. £24.00 for 100ml

Application: Before going to bed and after shampooing, spray this hair mask onto the lengths of the hair, but not the roots, you can spray onto dry or towel dry hair. Then leave, do not rinse out, but you can blow dry hair if desired.

The look: In a slick blue bottle it looks stylish and it is travel friendly, you can’t see the actual product but it is a light liquid.

The smell: it has a smell similar to hairspray, that same alcohol based scent. Not unpleasant, but a fragrance may have been nice to just scent the hair.

The feel: A light spray that you don’t really notice on your hair.

Result: My hair does feel softened and not weighed down.

Overall: It is a fairly good product, it doesn’t weigh the hair down and keeps it soft. But you cant really test for how well UV protected it is or whether its protecting you against environmental aggressors. I’m not sure how necessary it is, and it’s not value for money, but it has improved my locks.

Score: 7/10

The brand: Part of the L’Oreal group, Kerastase is a hairdressers favourite and you’ll find it stocked in top salons including Trevor Sorbie, Charles Worthington and Richard Ward. It claims to be a scientific approach to hair care, so expect to see lots of big science words and biological terms like lipids and glucose. They do however aim to treat hair issues such as dandruff, or oily scalps.

Rivals: Redken, Phillip Kingsley, Phyto

Responsible for some of the most gorgeous barnets in Hollywood, Kerastase is the go-to for big, beautiful and bouncy hair. So it was with total trust and abandonment that I applied the recommended hazelnut sized amount of hair cream to the lengths and ends of my locks every evening before bed.

At first, I was slightly concerned that the product did not ‘immediately dissolve’ into my hair as promised, and worried I’d wake up the next morning with a lank, greasy mane.
After several days use my hair felt stronger than before and has definitely improved in texture. I would recommend this product to anyone with medium-thick hair that is in need of some TLC. For this reason I was very much looking forward to treating my poor neglected locks to a dose of Kerastase masquintense; a nourishing cream for dry and extremely sensitised hair. At £24 per 200ml it was slightly more expensive than my usual ‘products’ so I was hoping for some noticeable results.

I wasn’t disappointed. Application was really easy, two ‘hazlenut’ size amounts of product were recommended (I opted for three as I have a lot of hair). This was then worked through damp hair from root to tip and left for five minutes before rinsing. The smell was pleasant, if a little soapy but made my hair smell clean and fresh and lasted well.

After rinsing, combing was effortless and my hair looked really shiny and glossy once dry, it also felt soft to touch with all signs of dryness completely banished. If anything it was almost too clean which made it a little hard to style, however it was three days before it needed washing again! I even got comments from a couple of friends on how ‘shiny’ it looked, (which should probably teach me to steer clear of super-market bargains in future).

All in all I would definitely recommend this product, if not all year round then most definitely for taking away on holiday when your hair is most at risk of becoming dry.

A great treat: 9/10. Available at <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=207X327&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.luxuryhaircare.co.uk%2FKerastase-Nutritive%2Fc5_43%2Fp178%2FKerastase---Nutridefense-Masque%2Fproduct_info.html&sref=rss" target=blank">luxuryhaircare.co.uk.

Description: A nourishing treatment for fine hair, it “provides an optimal blend of lipids, proteins and glucose to help restore the nourishment balance of the hair fibre. Hair should be transformed into silky to touch, softer, shinier and more supple. £24.00 for 200ml

Application: Can use this hair mask as either a normal conditioner or as a conditioning treatment. Just apply like a normal conditioner after shampooing to “nourish dry and extremely sensitised hair. Or leave on for 5 minutes for more intense conditioning.

The look: A nice looking pot, it looks quite expensive and stylish. The product itself is just a white gloopy substance.

The smell: It smells a little like a body moisturiser, not unpleasant but it isn’t one that has a fragrant scent, which is good news for those with sensitive skins.

Result: Applied as instructed, it went on easily and I welcomed the lack of scent. After washing it out, my hair was instantly detangled and felt cleaner and softer. After drying, my hair looked shiny and stronger, it was soft and in perfect condition.

Overall: A wonder mask, not the most cost effective, but it does what it says on the pot. My hair was instantly transformed, I also tried it in replace for my usual conditioner and found it to be perfect, it didn’t weigh the hair down but left it glossy and strong.

Score: 9/10

The brand: Part of the L’Oreal group, Kerastase is a hairdressers favourite and you’ll find it stocked in top salons including Trevor Sorbie, Charles Worthington and Richard Ward. It claims to be a scientific approach to hair care, so expect to see lots of big science words and biological terms like lipids and glucose. They do however aim to treat hair issues such as dandruff, and oily scalps.

Rivals: Redken, Phillip Kingsley, Phyto
