My, it’s been the week for outfit clashes. First Shakira and Pink rocked up at the VMAs in the same Balmain dress and then Alexa Chung and Gossip Girl favourite Leighton Meester arrived at Wednesday’s Phillip Lim show in the same polka-dot shift!

Leighton Meester, like the rest of the Gossip Girl cast, is very fashion forward and loves dressing up in the latest catwalk creations, and last night at the VMA’s was no exception! She sported a gorgeous Christain Cota shift dress with petal sleeves that look like a softer approach to the power shoulders that are being worn by every celeb.

O.K, so Leighton’s outfit is easily my top pick of the night, no question about it. Everyone’s favourite Gossip Girl, wowed in a black fitted mini-dress by Emilio De La Morena paired with Brian Atwood booties. From the cut out detail to the sheer panelling, this ensemble is bang on trend. It works because it’s sexy, yet leaves enough to the imagination....
