If it wasn’t for the outerwear and the use of heavier fabrics one would have thought the AW08 collection from Eley Kishimoto was for Spring/Summer. It was colourful delight! The collection was titled “Bonnie Bunny” and was intended to “twist the quintessential class of British country living into a showy comical cartoon world”, I guess that explained the combination of tweed shorts with white tights.

Presenting his AW08 collection at the Royal Opera House, Ashley Isham upped the glam factor and urged us ladies to channel our inner sex kitten next season. The collections palette ranged from cobalt blue, and bright orange to purple and caramel.
Snakeskin waistcoats complimented long evening dresses with plunging necklines. Edgier looks came in the form of patent leather biker jackets paired with body con dresses. Jewel brooches embellished various pieces and added a lovely final touch to some of the fitted jackets.

Inspiration for Ann-Sofie Backs collection came from today’s self obsessed celebrities and their constant need to stay in the limelight, in particular all the knicker flashing that’s been inflicted on us. It was unarguably an interesting concept.
With cartoon themes blaring through the speakers, models paraded down the catwalk in g-strings that were worn as garters. G-strings were also worked into silk lace dresses, jeans and tops. Prints were created from pixellated images of Britney Spear’s crotch and used on t-shirts, leggings, and dresses.

Everyone knew the Jaeger London show would pull in a crowd - after all it was the brands debut on the international catwalk scene - but I’m not sure they anticipated (myself included) that the collection would be such a hit. Under the direction of designer Karen Boyd and Helen Storey, Jaeger London struck a successful balance between the old and the new. In short it was brilliant!
