You don’t have to go full-on lace a’ la Kate Middleton’s wedding dress to wear the ever-popular trend, oh no. In fact, as Marion Cotillard demonstrates, you can wear lace without actually wearing it. You following?

Marion Cotillard looked chic and totally en vogue when she attended the Chaumet’s Cocktail Party for Cesar’s Revelations in a beautiful Dior dress that was in actual fact lace print, (as opposed to lace in texture) and we absolutely loved it!

Lace is hot, hot, hot right now, but if you’re not brave enough to don the lace for fear of looking like an extra on Downton Abbey, a doilie or you just don’t fancy the chilly air getting in-between the gaps, then this is the perfect solution. And lucky for you, the high street is bursting with similar items.

We love how Marion teamed the look with some simple black tights and an elegant up-do. There’s a reason Christian Dior hired this lady to flaunt its handbag range, you know.

The new Dior comedic short film has finally landed and we couldn’t be happier to share it with you on this cold, dark and dreary Wednesday morning. 

French actress Marion Cotillard, i.e. the beauty who modelled the Lady Dior handbags just a few months ago, was the subject of the film that takes a satirical look at the fashion world.

The fifth installment of the Lady Dior films, L.A.dy Dior, was shot in Hollywood (naturally) by veteran Dior film-maker John Cameron Mitchell  and was apparently inspired by a short film by Richard Avedon in 1973 which starred supermodel and actress Lauren Hutton.

Marion Cottilard plays the part of a model who has had enough of her hectic job and flips out on her photoshoot, although the photographer goes with it as he thinks it is part of the shoot. Her model persona was modelled on the classic Dior lady, as she is sporting an oversized hat, dark shades, Hollywood waves in her blonde hair and of course, a beautiful Lady Dior handbag (the scene in which they can’t decide which handbag to choose is particularly amusing!).

Directed by John Cameron Mitchell, the last Lady Dior episode sees a showgirl Cotillard unveil the hidden secrets of her handbag in a stunning silent film – watch as she has the likes of Sir Ian McKellen spellbound, before making her final exit inside the London Eye…

Remember last week when we tweeted we’d been somewhere extra exciting in secret? Well, we can now reveal that Dior invited us along to the private advanced screening of the fourth and final chapter in the Lady Dior saga, Lady Grey London – and today we can show you the teaser.

Inspired by John Galliano and shot by John Cameron Mitchell, Lady Grey London stars Marion Cotillard as a captivating showgirl – but you’ll have to wait until next week to find out the rest.

The full film will be available to watch at ladydior.com on Wenesday, 8th December, but we’ll be getting our hands on an exclusive preview the day before so make sure you check back to see it first.

Just five months ago Carla Bruni was raving about starring in a Woody Allen film when the director approached her to work with him, but it seems the French First Lady’s dream was short-lived: he’s cast Dior girl Marion Cotillard instead.

Though Allen told Carla she would be a “natural” choice for his next film, it would seem the director’s had a change of heart (and a bout of sense).

“Carla Bruni is not a woman who earns her living as an actress. She is a first lady,” Allen told the Telegraph. “She could be taken away at any moment by other duties, like a political crisis or an important event. I have to take account of the risks that there could be, and hiring her is far from certain.”

Instead he’s chosen Academy Award-winning Marion Cotillard, face of Dior beauty and star of the new Lady Rouge campaign, to play the role, and she’s set to join Rachel McAdams and Owen Wilson for filming in July.

Still, if Carla’s lucky, she may get a cameo role in the film. “We’re delighted to get Marion on board,” a film source said, “but Carla’s participation is still very much in the air.”

Following on from its first short-film, the Lady Noir Affair, Dior presents Lady Rouge as the sequel to this very sexy ad campaign.

Academy Award winning actress Marion Cotillard reclaims her position centre stage as a seriously seductive femme fetale in the Jonas Akerlund-directed film , but this time, she’s singing.

Don’t let that beautiful face fool you; what starts out as a hauntingly quiet vocal as she studies herself in the mirror turns into a full-on rock ‘n’ roll session with British band Franz Ferdinand as she sings The Eyes of Mars , a song written by the band exclusively for the film. Who knew?

Lady Rouge will launch on www.ladydior.com tomorrow, Thursday March 5, but of course, we’ve got a little preview , and you can watch it in all its Moulin Rouge-esque glory here.
