Squeal! You can’t even begin to understand the extent of our delight when an email landed in our inboxes saying that Moschino Cheap and Chic would be showing at London Fashion Week next month. 

Moschino’s younger Cheap & Chic line will be showing in London on Saturday the 18th February, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome it to our city.

“London is renowned for its contemporary style and famous sense of humor making it the perfect place to exhibit Moschino Cheap and Chic’s DNA and energy,” said creative director Rossella Jardini. “I’m sure London will be the appropriate platform for this line to grow whilst still remembering its roots.”

Here, here! Joining Moschino Cheap and Chic in the newbie section is Belstaff, which is showing a combined womenswear and menswear show on Sunday February 19th.

What is London Fashion Week if not a platform for designers to showcase their collections in a new environment? We can’t believe we are just over a month away from seeing all those autumn/winter 2012 collections paraded before us.

Katy being, um, Katy, we’re used to seeing her in all manner of outlandish garbs. Sparkly smurf dresses, fairground carousel creations and sequin gowns depicting President Obama’s face are all fair game.

That’s why we were particularly surprised to see Ms Perry in this relatively toned down number whilst promoting her second fragrance, Meow, in Los Angeles last week.

Her super girly Moschino dress was made from baby pink satin and featured a giant black bow around the neckline and band around the waist. She paired it with a pair of black Valentino heels and a new blond bob which, for the record, we love!

Add to this simple jewellery and minimal makeup and you’ve got a look we haven’t seen from the 27-year-old singer for a long time (if ever).

We’re loving this demure look Katy but we do kind of miss her crazy-lady garb. Where are the attachable sequin dice, UV lights and Copacabana-style fruit appliqués?

Awakening the designer within, ex-songstress Lily Allen has jumped on the sartorial bandwagon and is set to launch a clothing line under her Lucy in Disguise label that she shares with sibling Sarah Owen. Thandie Newton launches British Designers Collective at Bicester Village:

Officially opened to the public on 31st March, the British Fashion Council’s second British Designers Collective launched at Bicester Village this week. Hosted by British beauty Thandie Newton, the BDC pop-up shop helps support London’s upcoming fashion scene, by allowing young British designers to showcase previous seasons’ collections complete with a lower price tag. British pop-singer and recently turned model – after being signed to Select Models – Eliza Doolittle has done pretty well for herself recently. And her latest fashion feat modelling Moschino’s spring/summer 2011 collection is nothing short of envious.

“Eliza reflects the spirit of the collection; free and fizzy. With her fresh and playful personality, she interprets the new spring/summer 2011 Moschino CheapAndChic collection and embodies contemporary, young style,” Moschino said in a statement.

In this short video shot at Maison Moschino in Milan, we see the quirky Doolittle model her favourite pieces from the brand’s Cheap and Chic spring/summer 2011 line, accompanied by her own song Pack Up playing in the background, naturally, reports he Telegraph.

It looks as though there’s nothing Eliza can’t do.

As collaborations go, Harper’s Bazaar and Browns make quite the team. The pair have joined forces once again in the name of charity to raise money for Women for Women International, enlisting a host of heavyweight designers to create a line of limited edition tees.

Donatella Versace, Gucci’s Frida Giannini, Veronica Etro, Angela Missoni, Alberta Ferretti and Rossella Jardini at Moschino have all stamped their signature creativity on the exclusive T-shirts, which go on sale at Browns today. And from Donatella’s bold, geometric shapes, Frida’s fun balloon design and even the tribal-luxe print of Angela Missoni, there are plenty of stylish designs to get your heart (and conscience) pumping.

”The Greek key motif has become something of a graphic signature for Versace,” explains Donatella of her T-shirt design. “My brother used it and I have continued to do so. It’s like the Medusa head itself as a recognizable stamp of Versace, and I often use it when I want to make a graphic statement which is more of a house logo. For the T-shirt, I felt that a simple graphic was needed, as a T-shirt is itself a simple garment.”

Bazaar’s and Browns‘ Women for Women T-shirt campaign first launched last year with British fashion designers, born out of a meeting between the magazine’s editor, Lucy Yeomans, and Baghdad-born charity founder Zainab Salbi, who set up the foundation in 1993 to help women whose lives have been shattered by war.

“We are so excited to be doing this project for a second year and to see it grow into an important international campaign working with the different editions of Bazaar around the world,” Lucy Yeomans said. “It was a real privilege to work with the leading female Italian designers, each of whom, when asked to get involved, said yes within minutes. This reaction shows what an incredible impact the work of Women for Women has around the world.”

Each of the contributing designers have been exclusively photographed by renowned photographer Charlie Gray in their own limited edition T-shirts for a special feature about the charity-based project, set to appear in the UK April issue of Harper’s Bazaar’s, on sale March 3rd.

The T-shirts are available to buy at Browns as of today, priced £39, with a proportion of the sales going towards Women for Women.
