We don’t need a full-length picture to confirm that Kate Middleton looked stunning in a sparkly £1,400 emerald green Mulberry pleated shirt-dress at Buckingham Palace last night. 

The Duchess of Cambridge joined her hubby Prince William, who recently returned from a rescue mission in Anglesey, at a reception held in Buckingham Palace to mark the start of the Queen’s diamond jubilee.

As well as Wills and Kate, the Queen invited Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, along with 350 journalists and photographers including Fearne Cotton and Chris Evans to help her kick off her celebrations in style.

Perhaps it’s because of its lack of a high street price tag, but some sizes of the Mulberry dress – complete with a very on-trend Peter Pan collar –  are still available online, although we doubt they will stick around for long, so if you want to emulate the Duchess’s style, we recommend you snap one up quickly before it’s too late.

When it comes to the royal family, us British love nothing more than a good old china mug adorning our Queen’s face, but quite frankly, Kate Middleton and Prince William’s up and coming wedding has prevoked some rather unusual, and dare we say it, tacky memorabilia – we don’t remember Charles and Diana’s wedding being so merchandise crazy, do you?

Practically every little business out there is cashing in on this royal money making window one way or another, from the cute to the practical and the down right outrageous – yep you name it, and someone out there has probably already thought of it.

But the tackiest lot of them all has to be a Will’s and Kate Papa John’s pizza, a box of royal wedding cereal, creepy printed Will and Kate bed covers, Pez dispensers (yes you read that right), and, probably the worst by a long shot, royal wedding condoms, reports the Cut – one does not approve!

As the big Royal wedding grows achingly closer by the day, more and more details about the coveted event are leaking out to the press – and the latest is nothing short of a magical fairytale.

News has just come to our attention that Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to leave Westminster Abbey as husband as wife in the 1902 State Landau – the same carriage that in fact carried William’s parents following their marital ceremony in 1981.

But to mix things up a bit, Kate has reportedly chosen to travel in a Rolls-Royce Phantom V1 to Westminster – unlike the late Diana who arrived in a glass Cinderella carriage on her big day.

Kate reportedly chose the exclusive Phantom for its large windows and visibility – not to mention it’s also the same car Prince Charles and Camilla used in their 2005 wedding – we guess the V1 is a common family favourite, eh?

And instead of wedding gifts, the high-profile couple have asked their guests to donate to a list of charities close to their heart, reports Vogue UK.

How very kind of them indeed.

It’s not just the fashion world who have recognised his services to the industry, oh no: Christopher Bailey, the brains Britain’s best luxury label Burberry, has received his MBE.

Following his recent promotion from creative director at Burberry to chief creative officer, Christopher Bailey arrived at Buckingham Palace on Friday morning to pick up his MBE, which was presented to him by the Princess Royal for his services to fashion.

The 38-year-old , who’s up for Designer Brand with Burberry at this year’s British Fashion Awards , was awarded his MBE back in June on the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, but it’s taken until now for Bailey to finally get his creative claws on it, Elle UK report.

It’s not the first time he’s rubbed shoulders with royalty, either. Last month, Bailey escorted none other than Prince Charles around Burberry’s new Horseferry House headquarters as he looked through the fashion house’s 153 year old archives.

The man can do no wrong; congratulations, Christopher!

It received its very own day in New York, and now, British brand Burberry has received the royal seal of approval as Prince Charles visited its new Horseferry House headquarters yesterday morning.

The heir to the throne met up with creative director Christopher Bailey and chief executive officer Angela Ahrendts, who were on hand to give the Prince a royal tour of the 160,000 square foot building. It’s a good job Burberry’s infamous checkered lifts were on hand, otherwise there may have been a slight problem.

As well as a tour of the building, Charles had a look through the fashion house’s 153 year old archives and met up with the 850 strong workforce.

HRH told the workers “I fear I’ve caused complete and utter confusion. I’ve probably ruined your production targets for the day , I seem to spend my life doing that! reported WWD.

Regardless of Charles’ interruption on the production line, Christopher Bailey was still on hand to present a gabardine walking jacket and an iconic trademark cheque cashmere scarf to the Royal.

Considering Burberry made the FTSE 100 in September and is estimated to be worth £2 billion, we’re sure Bailey and co didn’t find it too hard to part with a few freebies. Well, that’s what we will be telling ourselves when we march round to Burberry HQ to claim ours.
