It’s another fashion fairytale; gorgeous girl gets scooped up off the street and suddenly finds herself as part of a two-season runway exclusive with a main designer and the face of his new campaign. In this case the gorgeous girl is Toni Garrn of Hamburg and the main designer is Calvin Klein.
Garrn had no modelling aspirations prior to her impromptu scouting encounter; on the contrary, she is currently in school and lives at home with her parents. Yet despite her nonchalance about this new chapter in her life, her casual attitude belies the success she’s already had (in addition to the whole CK runway thing).

Prior to the November issue of French Vogue we hadn’t. But our curiosity about the dude whose fabulous legs outshone Carolyn Murphy’s, wasn’t peaked until we watched this video of Andre J performing Alpha Kitty duties for ex editor-in-chief of Seventeen magazine, Atoosa Rubenstein.
We were so in awe of his larger than life personality that we did the obvious and went straight to Google. And after much digging, here, here and here we discovered that…

We all know the model’s version of the fairytale: willowy beauty is picked out amidst the masses for some ineffable quality and is immediately whisked off to grace the Fashion Week runways. The reality is often completely different, and many girls aspiring to be on the catwalks often never make it there—or they do, but never get the big campaign that will get them to the top level of modeling.

Why: Penkov creates elegantly feminine pieces with modern and somewhat masculine touches, and has fashion spheres buzzing after winning her second Moet & Chandon Fashion Debut award.

The name Olga Kapustina is not on the tip of everyone’s tongues … yet. However if current celebrity buzz is any indicator (from none less than the likes of Angelina, Reese, and Cameron), this young designer is an up-and-coming name to be reckoned with. Born in Belarus, raised in Brooklyn, and trained in ballet, chemistry and philosophy, her diverse background has coalesced into a design philosophy that embraces clean lines and a muted palette that is striking and perfectly feminine.

Google the name “Ali Stephens” and you’re likely to find a few dozen sites featuring a girl whose beauty is simply otherworldly, clad in Balenciaga, Chloé, and Prada (among many others) strutting down the runway like a seasoned pro. When I searched for her, I kept clicking through the list, hoping to see more photos (really, why were there so few!) and started coming across statistics for a cross-country runner named Ali Stephens from Utah with an interest in marine biology.
As it turns out, these two girls are one and the same: the girl that glides down the catwalk can also run a blisteringly fast cross-country race (albeit in more practical shoes). And the reason why photographs are relatively few and far between? Ali was discovered only last August—yes, August of 2007—yet landed on the runways of the crème de la crème of designers’ weeks later in the Milan and Paris shows.
