So, what went down on Day 3 of New York Fashion Week you ask?

Londoners may be pleased to know that Rachel Zoe’s collection was apparently inspired by London’s rock and roll glamour of the 60s, as well as the styles of Mick Jagger and Marianne Faithfull. We can totally see how her collection was influenced by all of the above, with some of our favourite pieces consisting of the faux fur coats, thigh high boots and skinny tux styles.

Gwen Stefani’s LA.M.B collection had the signature edge that all Gwen pieces do, even though she went in a slightly more mature direction. There was an abundance of bright colours and pieces inspired by the 50s and early 60s as well as other rockabilly/rock chick/punk vibes. Some of the styles were somewhat reminiscent of Amy Winehouse’s Fred Perry collections (and not just because of the beehive dos), but with a more feminine and edgy twist.

Although Monique Lhuillier’s collection was darker, more sultry and less feminine than her previous outing (there are far less Oscar-worthy dresses) it had just as much impact, if not more. Red and black was very prominent, which the designer said was inspired by the Chinese year of the dragon. Silhouettes were long, lean and flowing, and patterns were busy, fiery and sometimes even shimmering. A stunning collection if ever there was one.

Prabal Gurung showed his highly anticipated collection, which was comprised of mainly form fitting garments, futuristic prints, colours and textures, as well as strong silhouettes with lots of lace, feathers, ruffles, tassels and sheer trains to name but a few. It was less distinguished than the previous collection which was made up of primarily purple printed pieces, but the Prabal Gurung signature is still very much apparent!

Hervé Léger by Max Azria went for an equestrian meets bondage meets Pocahontas theme, offering the signature bandage dress with a slightly different vision. There were mini and maxi dresses alike accessorised with harnesses of different shapes, colours, styles and textures, proving that the label  – and perhaps even the classic fan of the label – has grown up. We can’t wait to see how the celebs will work this look in the coming months!

In honour of its 10-room Numéros Privés exhibit at the Wynn Hotel, Chanel hosted what can only be described as a lavish celebratory extravaganza in Las Vegas at the weekend, and made sure all of fashion’s elite had a snazzy invite! 

Chanel flew its celebrity guests – the likes of which included Rachel Zoe (who we don’t think is even a day pregnant if her miniscule waist was anything to go by), Alexa Chung, Diane Kruger, Jessica Alba and Lily Collins among others – to the party destination via private plane: Kaiser Karl wouldn’t have it any other way!

Naturally the guests rocked up to the party in some pretty nifty Chanel attire, with Alexa Chung, Lily Collins and Jessica Alba being three particularly well-dressed attendees. Our Alexa even did a spot of DJ-ing!

But, let’s not forget the reason these VIP guests were there – the exhibition! Word on the street is that the exhibit includes an entire room dedicated to the making of the iconic 2.55 handbag, sketches by the main man Karl Lagerfeld himself, and lots of pearls, lace and dolls to boot.

Now, all we have to do is sit tight and wait patiently for the first pictures of today’s Chanel Couture show to emerge to get our full weekly dose of the brand!

Trust Rachel Zoe to be casually strutting around Beverly Hills in a brand spanking new Missoni cardigan from the pre-fall 2012 collection!

Rachel Zoe is no longer just a celebrity stylist, she’s also a celebrity on her own merit, which is why she’s perfectly within her rights to wear fab designer gear herself instead of just reserving it for her famous clients.

Ms Zoe, who is rumoured to be pregnant with her second child, looked effortlessly chic as she and her adorable little 10-month-old baby boy Skyler Morrison Berman did a spot of window shopping in the sun.

Just like his uber-stylish mummy, Skyler is fast becoming one of the most fashionable infants in Celebville, and is keeping little Harper Seven on her toes. Figuratively speaking of course.

Do you love Rachel’s effortless street style? As much as we adore her signature black hat and glasses combo, we think she should take a leaf out of Skyler’s book and mix it up a bit, don’t you?

Could Rachel Zoe be giving 10-month-old Skyler a younger brother or sister this year? If what we read in OK Magazine is anything to go by, the answer is yes! 

“Rachel is just past the three month mark so she’s hardly showing yet at all,” a fashionable source reportedly told Radar Online. “She’s thrilled, but, quite frankly a little shocked! She didn’t think she would fall pregnant a second time, let alone so quickly!”

Designer and stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe was spotted out and about in St Barts with hubby Rodger Berman and baby Skyler over the Christmas period, wearing relatively looser clothing that she’s perhaps used to, which makes the rumour seem plausible, wouldn’t you say?

Ms Zoe is reportedly hoping for a little girl this time, “although more than anything she just wants another healthy, happy baby.”

We’re thrilled for the couple and will be on bump-watch for the next few months!

Rachel Zoe might be respected in her field but, unfortunately for her, nobody in the real world actually likes her. This is the harsh reality of being a celebrity stylist.

Rachel has the ability to strike fear into the hearts of even the most resilient designers and celebrities she’s working with. However, there’s one woman who makes her look like a Disney Mousketeer in comparison. That woman is Iris Apfel.

The 90-year-old cuts a striking silhouette; all huge jewellery, opulent clothing and flying-saucer spectacles. There isn’t much the eccentric fashion icon doesn’t know about style and, boy, she doesn’t hold back.

Speaking about walking down Fifth Avenue, she once said, “It seems that the fatter and uglier people are, the fewer clothes they wear. The shorts and flip-flops and tight jeans on butts that go from here to Poughkeepsie.”

That, and the fact she believes size 10 (UK size 14) stretch jeans should be outlawed, means she’s created more than her fair share of controversy. While Rachel Zoe might have been hailed as the leader of the pro-skinny movement in Hollywood a few years back, nobody quite does body fascism like Iris.

Iris is currently working on her own jewellery collection, regularly speaks at lectures and is an unlikely New York socialite. While she seems to have the energy and zest for life of someone half her age, it’s reassuring to know that, when she does finally retire from all this fashion malarkey, we have a suitable substitute in everyone’s favourite demonic stylist – Rachel Zoe.

Nicole Richie fans, rejoice! The reality TV star turned fashion designer has revealed that she will be teaming up with QVC to create an affordable seventies inspired clothing line.

Ms Richie follows in the very fashionable footsteps of Kardashian momager Kris Jenner and stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe.

“The line is cute – it can be worn by teeny-tiny girls but also goes up to size XXXL,’ a source told US Weekly. “Nicole has a great fashion sense, and she’s very hands-on.”

The 30-year-old’s Winter Kate label and House of Harlow accessories range may not be affordable to all of her fans, which is why we think Nicole was keen to work on this project.

The collection is due to launch in February next year, which is rather conveniently when her brand new TV show Fashion Star airs for the first time. We are confident the collection will be a huge hit!

A few weeks ago we showed you a picture of a luggage cart carrying no less than 13 suitcases belonging to celebrity stylist and designer Rachel Zoe. We firmly established that she is definitely not a light packer, but she finally explained what she used them for. You ready to find out?

“I was basically gone from Los Angeles for five weeks,” she told InStyle.com. “I was in New York for two weeks, London for a week and a half and Paris for a week and a half. So, it’s all different climates. It’s a lot of stuff.”

We understand climate differences as much as the next person (even more so thanks to our unseasonable weather of late) and even though we still think 13 is a tad excessive, we mustn’t forget that she had her adorable little man Skyler on board too.

“He had all his clothes, too. He changes two or three times a day. I mean, there’s spit up involved. You have to have changes on hand.”

Spit up and climate change? Ok, we’ll let her off then!
