I’ve been looking for a comfy and pretty, floor-grazing maxi dress to sport around this summer. Ideally, it would be something I could easily throw on in the AM with some flip flops, jet off to brunch and shopping with the girls and then toss on a pair of cute wedges to transform it to a relaxed evening look.
Woven clutches not only work great with resort attire (think summer getaways and beach BBQ’s), they are totally stylish and a great accessory for even a night out in the city in your favorite LBD.
Platform wedge sandals are staples in my wardrobe. Being very petite, I love to crank myself up with 3-5” heels on a daily basis and am rarely found in flats. I will admit, however, that as I get older, it gets harder to trek around the city in sky-highs around the clock. Aching feet and caught heels in subway grates seem to get less justifiable over time.
So a couple months back, we mentioned that celebs like Lindsay Lohan and Rihanna were bringing leather-esque leggings back to the mainstream. Since then, the rocker-inspired look has taken the streets by storm, and shiny, ultra-tight black pants (if you can even call them that) have started to give the skinny jean movement a run for its money.
This Spring/Summer, shorts won’t only be a staple with flip-flops for day at the beach, but a trendy alternative for hitting the town for cocktails at night. Some people might have problems with mixing casual attire with evening wear, but when paired with sexy sandals or stylish wedges and a cute loose-fitting button down or a drapey top, the new breed of shorts stand a chance in giving minis and party frocks a run for the money.
With exotic animal prints and skins being all the rage this Spring, it might just be time to invest in a new pair of strappy snakeskin sandals. Definitely not a look that everyone can (or would want to) pull off, but for those of you who like to walk on the wild side, here are two great options depending on how much coin you have stashed in your piggy bank.
