Thandie Newton steals the show in electric blue Stella McCartney

Despite only being at the London premiere of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel last night to support her husband Ol Parker, who wrote the screenplay of the film, it’s safe to say that Thandie Newton pretty much stole the show on the red carpet.

Thanks to Beyonce and Jay-Z’s little baby girl Blue Ivy Carter, the colour’s popularity has undoubtedly sky-rocketed. But, whatever the gorgeous Thandie Newton’s reason for opting to wear this electric blue one-shouldered Stella McCartney Resort 2012 dress was, it was definitely a great choice.

Thandie has excelled at the ‘understated elegance’ look for as long as we can remember, often managing to outshine celebs in the brightest and most extravagant of frocks with the simplest of looks, but she’s proved that she can also rock the red carpet in a bold, daring number too. She’s certainly no wallflower, that’s for sure.

Ms Newton teamed her attention-grabbing dress with some nude pumps, a chic up-do and cute earrings, letting the dress – and of course, her beauty – do all the talking. What a pro!

Try and spot Natalia Vodianova in Stella McCartney’s spring/summer 2012 campaign

We don’t know quite how to say this, but Stella McCartney’s spring/summer 2012 advert kind of reminds us of the ever popular Where’s Wally? puzzles (or for our Stateside readers, Where’s Waldo?), and would very much like someone else to see where we are coming from so we don’t sound completely crazy.

We aren’t saying the gorgeous Natalia Vodianova is channeling an adolescent boy with large round spectacles and a distinctive stripey red shirt, but we do think it could be a little tricky to spot the model amongst all that floral.

On the contrary, her black and white picture being cut and pasted onto a bright and very colourful floral backdrop does actually stand out – and if we’re being honest, there’s something about Natalia that still manages to catch our eye and keep our attention on her as opposed to the background.

We think Tyra Banks and Elle Macpherson should make the girls try this on America’s Next Top Model and Britain’s Next Top Model respectively – if they can stand out amongst a sea of floral, they’ve definitely got what it takes to go all the way in the competition!

It feels like just yesterday that we popped open a bottle of bubbly reminisced on the great memories of 2011 and felt hopeful about what 2012 would bring. Michelle Williams still works it as Marilyn Monroe for US GQ

You’d think we’d be over the whole Michelle Williams/Marilyn Monroe thing, seeing as My Week with Marilyn premiered months ago and will practically be coming out on DVD before we know it. Alas, we’re still every bit as besotted with Michelle Williams’ representation of the late Hollywood icon as ever, and don’t think we’ll have a change of heart any time soon.

Michelle Williams is covering the February 2012 issue of American GQ, in some hotter than hot underwear courtesy of Stella McCartney. She’s also wearing an Alexander Wang cardi, but we don’t think many people will be focusing on it when Stella underwear and Michelle’s perfect pout and Marilyn-esque curves are on display.

As much as we loved Lindsay Lohan’s efforts for Playboy’s recent cover, we don’t think anyone has a patch on Michelle Williams. Not even Madonna in her Material Girl days.

All the details on Stella McCartney’s Ab Fab cameo, some spoilers

We know we haven’t got long to wait until Christmas, but we are rather impatient, so are more than happy to read and divulge information ahout Stella McCartney’s upcoming cameo appearance in Absolutely Fabulous, which will be back and better than ever (we assume).

So, here are all the details – and a few spoilers – regarding Stella’s appearance.

“It’s funny because in this series the joke is that Stella McCartney won’t ever let Eddy into her shop to get any clothes,” Jennifer Saunders told Stylist. “Lots of people go in but the door is always locked and I can’t get in. And I’m like, ‘Stella! Why don’t you love me?’ I fall at Stella’s feet at a drinks reception and go, ‘I’d look great in your clothes!’ She treats me like her stalker, which I’ve become. But actually, in real life, Stella told me, ‘Oh, I’d love Edina to look really nice in my clothes. Can’t she have a Stella makeover?’ And I said, ‘No, she can’t!’”

Sounds very entertaining – we can’t wait. Ab Fab will return to our screens over Christmas – a wonderful gift if ever there was one.
