Many admiring words have been spoken, of late, of the countless joys that coral can cast over one’s life. Words that I entirely agree with (perhaps I wrote them?) and, yes, I am in the midst of a passionate love affair with my new coral lipstick but if we are going to be fussy (let’s), I must admit I prefer peach.

Trends: Reluctant Debutante
An aura of deconstructed grandeur seems to be encircling the world of fashion at the moment. From the A/W08 collections of Balenciaga and Prada to the Cecil Beaton influence at Erin Fetherston’s resort collection to recent shoots in Dazed and Confused and Paris Vogue, the reluctant debutant is stomping her delicate little ankles all over town.
Before Autumn’s fully fledged structured glamour takes hold, this summer is like her teenage years - the elegance is starting to creep in, reluctantly stepping out with a dominating scruffiness and a dishevelled crown.
To get the look with just the right level of sophisticated petulance, imagine yourself as an heiress who has run away from the estate to slum it with only her heirlooms for company.

Sunglasses: Shutter Shades For Summer!
Made famous by Kanye West, reader Erin quite rightly highlighted that we forgot to include the “shutter shade” in our round up of key sunglasses for this season.
Available in a number of colours, this summer the shutter shade has proved to be the biggest competitor for the Wayfarer. My only question is how the hell does one see out of them? If you own a pair can you tell me…”Do they annoy you after a while?”

Trends: Addicted to Accessories!
I have, I must admit, a bit of a jewelry addiction. I’m like a cat with a little bell around my neck - my friends can always tell exactly where I am at any given time due to excessive charms and bangles jingle jangling. Despite said addiction, I rarely buy into jewelry trends or invest in new styles, preferring my eclectic collection of hand-me downs, charms from my travels and vintage gems.

Small Town Style
I have always wanted to take a road trip through middle America. Due to a disappointing lack of funds, I will have to settle for a make believe fashion trip and a highway of inspiration instead. A recent re-watching of “Thelma and Louise” and and trip to see “Shotgun Stories” have merely fueled this current obsession with my (probably highly inaccurate) sartorial vison of small town America. In my head there is a low sun and heat haze shining through metallics in ice cream colours.
