  • Steep Vs. Cheap: Canvas Wedge Sandals
Platform wedge sandals are staples in my wardrobe. Being very petite, I love to crank myself up with 3-5” heels on a daily basis and am rarely found in flats. I will admit, however, that as I get older, it gets harder to trek around the city in sky-highs around the clock. Aching feet and caught heels in subway grates seem to get less justifiable over time.

  • Are Jelly Shoes Making a Comeback?
If you’re looking to bust out your jellies after years of hibernation in the back of your closet, now’s your opportunity to dust them off… I won’t lie and say that I never owned them, because I remember begging my mom for a pair of sparkly, cotton candy pink jellies when I was in grade school (and boy did I love them). But, as an adult, I find it a little odd...

  • My Trusty Chucks!
Last weekend during the only snowstorm of the year, my trusty Converse trainers broke. I was wondering why my toes were feeling damp, when I looked down and saw a crack the size of the Grand Canyon spreading southwards down the sole of my shoe. I always hate when my shoes break, because they become like a close friend, trusty and steadfast. Now I need to get looking...

  • Brogues: Fancy Footwork
I don’t know about you, but a whole season later and I am still in love with brogues. Flat patent brogues, shoe-boot brogues, brogues with heels, and the list continues. So, you can imagine my excitement when I found out that not only were brogues still de rigueur for the summer, but they had also been tweaked to allow for that all-important Spring/Summer vibe. The...

  • Thank you, Marc Jacobs!
I am a longtime fan of Marc Jacobs, and I usually don’t make any effort to hide it. If the man ever needed a kidney transplant, I’d probably offer him one of mine. However I have become just a little bit bitter toward him lately, and it has nothing to do with delayed runway shows or bribing officials. It has to do with shoes. We all know that high heels can be...

  • Comfy Shoes: Love Your Footsies
If you live in a city, it is inevitable that you walk around a lot. In Manhattan, which is home to some of the most intensely fashion-oriented women I’ve ever seen (just wander around at 9 am on a Sunday on the Upper East Side to see women perfectly coiffed and Chanel-ed and you will understand what I mean), fashion and practicality are often at odds in the footwear...

  • Steep vs. Cheap: Snakeskin Sandals
With exotic animal prints and skins being all the rage this Spring, it might just be time to invest in a new pair of strappy snakeskin sandals. Definitely not a look that everyone can (or would want to) pull off, but for those of you who like to walk on the wild side, here are two great options depending on how much coin you have stashed in your piggy bank.
