It has to be said, Milla Jovovich is one of those celebrities that’s adored by all – women want to be her, and men… well, they just want her. And here at myfashionlife we’re no exception (that is, we want to be her, not want her, to clarify). Arriving at the Museum of Modern Art for the New York premiere of her latest film, Stone, Ms. Jovovich looked stunning in Emilio Pucci. The crystal white lace dress looked elegant against her alabaster skin, while the daring micro length complemented her toned pins to perfection. The asymmetric one shoulder detailing gave an interesting finish to the Pucci piece, accompanied by a pair of peeptoe snakeskin stilettos that brought just the right amount of edge to the outfit without stealing the limelight from that utterly gorgeous frock. Sporting a new strawberry blonde barnet, Milla Jovovich looked every inch the award winning Hollywood star – we’re literally counting down the days until her new film graces our cinema screens.

Milla Jovovich loves dressing sexily. The 33-year-old model-and-actress has no problem with flaunting her body as she knows she won’t feel comfortable flashing her flesh when she gets older. She explained: “If you’ve got a good body you should flaunt it. My mum always told me that you’re not going to have it for ever, so you might as well show it off as much as you can now. We are very Russian about that. I like dressing sexily, but I dress for me because guys don’t care as long as you’re showing some skin. You can walk around in short shorts and a tube top and men will think you look great. It’s only women who notice your shoes.”

“The secret to longevity is just to honestly be doing something you believe in, no matter what it is,” says Milla. “Just keep doing it and doing it and doing it, and if the door gets slammed in your face, you just have to get up and go to the next door. The more you’re out there doing something you love, the more people are inspired. Slowly, before you know it, it’s ten years later and suddenly you’re getting recognition. You just have to keep beating your head against the wall.” Read the interview here

For the third year in a row, former Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld will be hosting a fashion show for the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala in Cannes. And just like the two fashion shows before it, this year’s has a very distinctive theme… Carine’s first fashion show had a “black” theme, while last year’s, which was dedicated to Elizabeth Taylor, was all about gold. This year however, Carine is paying tribute to Marilyn Monroe, and has chosen the colour “red” as the theme for the fashion show. Expect to see gowns from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Roberto Cavalli, Chanel, Christian Dior, Christopher Kane, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, Gucci and Tom Ford on the catwalk, all of which will be auctioned off to raise money for the wonderful and worthwhile cause. This year’s event will be chaired by John Travolta, Milla Jovovich, Harvey Weinstein and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. amfAR’s annual Cinema Against AIDS gala will take place in Cannes on Thursday May 22nd. Mango has revealed the newest face of its ad campaigns – and that face is none other than Daria Werbowy! The stunning 29-year-old Canadian/Polish model replaces Miranda Kerr (who did a wonderful job of posing for the brand we think you’ll all agree) and follows in the footsteps of Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Penelope Cruz, Claudia Schiffer and Milla Jovovich to name just a few. “As part of our policy of collaborating with celebrities from the world of fashion, Mango has decided to collaborate with one of top fashion models of the moment,” said Ninona Vila, a spokesperson for the brand. “In choosing a model of the stature of Daria Werbowy, our aim is not only to highlight our brand values, but also the importance of the quality and design of the garments in the new collection.” Well said. We have to wait until February for the full campaign to launch (boo!), but the sneaky behind-the-scenes image above is getting us nicely excited. [Daily Mail]

Read MorePenelope Cruz sizzles for the 2013 Campari Calendar
Penelope Cruz’s flawlessness actually kills us. The stunning Spanish senorita is the sizzling subject of the 2013 Campari calendar, which was beautifully shot by Kristian Schuller. “Photographing the 2013 Campari Calendar is simply incredible and a totally unique challenge,” the photographer said. “Campari has a history of creating powerful and visually-stunning imagery, both in its advertising campaigns and the Calendar. “My intention was to continue this story of success by pushing the boundaries even further which I feel we have achieved. It is magnificent to work with someone as talented as Penelope, who truly embodied the theme for the latest edition of the Calendar by bringing her flair and versatility to the set.” Here, here! Penelope is the 14th lady to grace the pages of the calendar, and follows in the footsteps of other gorgeous women such as Jessica Alba, Eva Mendes, Milla Jovovich, Salma Hayek and Olga Kurylenko to name but a few. Wearing one stunning scarlet outfit after another, it’s pretty safe to say that the whole ‘lady in red’ theme has definitely come across. Penelope strikes a series of seductive poses in some of the hottest designer dresses around, from Salvatore Ferragamo to Emilio Pucci to all else in-between. And in case you haven’t noticed, the other theme of next year’s calendar is ‘kiss superstition goodbye’, which explains why she is walking on cracked pavements, standing under ladders, and posing with black cats and cracked mirrors among other things. We know that the Pirelli calendar is supposed to be one of the sexiest and most exclusive ones around, but we think the Campari calendar should come a very close second. Scorching! [Star Pulse]

The campaign is reportedly being shot this week in Barcelona, and we can’t wait to see the pics. So it comes as no surprise that Kate wont be designing her collection for Topshop, however what is interesting is the appointment of Katy England (creative director at Alexander McQueen) who’ll create the collection on Kate’s behalf. While the prospect of seeing what England has to offer is extremely exciting, it seems such a shame that Kate, a style icon of our times, either lacks the confidence or can’t be bothered to be fully involved in the project. Even Sienna Miller, who’s faced a lot of criticism in her time for being an imitation of Kate, has taken an active role in her new label and Milla Jovovich who teamed up with Carmen Hawk, has stated in the past that she is always busy sourcing materials and finding inspiration for new collections. If Kate has decided to lend her name to the project she should also lend her talent rather than take the credit for what will be Katy England’s finished product.
