Emily Blunt rocks the florals for Edge of Tomorrow London promos

Last Updated on 28th May 2014 Hats off to a very brave Emily Blunt, who didn’t let a little thing like the rain or the typical London chill stop her from rocking the florals while on the Edge of Tomorrow promotional trail. The actress rocked two gorgeous floral looks while promoting her and Tom Cruise’s new movie in London. She went for a stunning navy blue Oscar de la Renta dress for the photocall on top of the Trafalgar Hotel (check out that amazing view!) on Sunday, and a summery floral strapless dress for the premiere this morning. And we really do mean morning – the premiere happened before 9am to allow her and Tom time to get to Paris and New York. Yes, it was Mr Cruise’s idea to do three different premieres in three different cities in one day. Madness! You would never have guessed that Emily had such an early start judging from her radiance on the red carpet though…

Embrace Yourself: Plus-Size Fashion Trends For Women In 2022

Last Updated on 30th January 2022 The US market for plus-size apparel has increased since 2016, going from $20.5 billion to $24 billion in 2020. Changing attitudes within the fashion industry has led to more acceptance of the plus-size apparel market by top retailers, however, there’s still more to be done.  That’s not to say industry leaders don’t offer plus-size women’s clothing. Many do, including the likes of JCPenney and Walmart, which is a far cry from when Lane Bryant was the only well-known company to tailor products to this market. Retailers will continue to sell products for plus-size women in 2022, but we’re likely to see some changes. In particular, plus-size trends will focus more on fitting curvy women and highlighting their natural features. Plus-Size Fashion Trends To Come Mix (Patterns) and Match (Solids) Is Coming Back At some point in fashion history, prints went out of style. But recently, like with neon-soaked outfits in 2019, prints have started to make a comeback. Now that they are, we suspect they’re going to be even bigger in 2022, especially in the plus-size clothing market. Why? Because not only can prints take your plain-Jane outfit from an eight to a ten, but when you have a plus-size body type, prints can also help give your body a slimmer look. Particularly for women who are less confident in their skin, prints are a fabulous yet subtle aid to highlighting assets and disguising insecurities. In 2022, we’re likely to see vertical stripes dominate the plus-size fashion market, especially when paired with solid colours. Mixing vertical prints with solid colours can help create a flattering look for curvier bodies, and one of the best ways to hide areas you don’t want to highlight is to wear a printed T-shirt that steals the attention with solid bottoms. Interestingly, we’ve started to see […]

And, with all the potential for romance, there are so many fun ways to take this year’s V-Day look. We’re here to help arm you with some of the best outfit ideas so you can head over to your fave fashion boutique and plan an evening you’ll remember forever. Lacy Black Dress and Strappy Heels—Ladies, meet the new LBD! The lacy black dress is a great go-to for date night, especially if you pick a version that’s a little on the sexy side, like a curve-hugging mini dress or something with a lower cut neckline. Spaghetti straps are great, too, but wearing them bare is probably a no-go in the middle of winter, so go for long sleeves or layer up with a soft, silky kimono. Silky Blouse with a Calf-Length Pleated Skirt—Is anyone else as obsessed with the long, pleated skirt trend as us? This flirty, feminine look is about as romantic as it gets, especially when you pair it with a top featuring some silk, lace or florals. The mid-calf skirt is perfect for showing off your statement heels, too. We say go for something with a sexy ankle strap with this kind of skirt! Floral Mini Dress with Cute Booties—A short floral dress is just what you need to get yourself into a flirty state of mind this time of year. If romance is the goal, grab a frock that features classic floral icons, such as roses. Add a cute pair […]

Snap Up These Not To Be Missed Bargains!

From making a list of the items you need to buying as much as possible online and of course, wearing comfy shoes when you do decide to tackle the shops. Ralph Lauren’s Collection At NYFW Is Everything We Aspire Our Wardrobes To Be

Last Updated on 7th February 2019 Wow, wow, wow….And just like that, our hearts literally skipped a beat when we saw Bella Hadid in this amazing metallic gold pleated dress. Courtesy of Ralph Lauren, this stunning piece (which may we add would be absolutely perfect for party season), made it’s debut at New York Fashion Week. Held at the Ralph Lauren Madison Avenue boutique which was converted into “Ralph’s Coffee Shop”, unlike other designers during fashion week whom are presenting what they think we should be wearing this autumn/winter, Ralph Lauren gave us a beautiful collection for Spring/Summer’19. Dominated by gold and black, with sprinkles of white and florals (because it wouldn’t be a spring presentation without florals), the collection was the epitome of elegance and sophistication. Best of all, it’s available to shop right now, but sadly we can’t seem to find the dress in question *sigh*. We shall keep you posted! [Images]

Tips for Planning the Perfect Spring Wedding in the South

Last Updated on 8th February 2019 The blooming cherry trees and magnolias, the warm and mild weather and the lush greenery make springtime the perfect time of year for a Southern wedding. It’s for these reasons and many others that spring is the most popular season for weddings in the South, with a large chunk of weddings below the Mason-Dixon line taking place between April and June. If you’ve chosen this timeframe for your Southern nuptials, you’ve got plenty to look forward to. But there are a few things you need to know before you book that plantation, barn, garden, winery or orchard for your dream Southern wedding. Here are a few of our very best tips. The Weather: A Safe Bet, But Preparation Is Key Spring weather in the South is one of the primary reasons why brides and grooms choose it as the ideal season to say “I do.” With temperatures lingering comfortably in the 70s and 80s, this time of year provides a much-needed respite from the sweltering heat that blankets the region in July, August and September. Here are some things to know about the weather: It May Still Be Hot—The fact of the matter is that springtime is getting hotter and hotter, with above-average temperatures becoming the norm all over the country. Prepare for the worst—that is, temps in the high 80s-plus (Atlanta once posted a record high of 93 degrees in April, remember)—by ensuring that guests have ample shade, water and a comfortable place to cool down. If your wedding day looks like it’s going to be on the hot end, hand out paper fans as favors.   It May Be Rainy—Though mild temperature-wise, the spring does bring a slightly higher risk of rain in the South compared with other times of the year. Valentino Showcased Its Pre-Fall 2019 Collection In Tokyo

Last Updated on 28th November 2018 Hosting their first ever show in Tokyo, Japan, last night also saw Valentino drop a pre-fall collection for the first time since the 1980’s. In stark contrast to the concrete warehouse it was held in, the dreamy Pre-Fall 2019  collection celebrated Japanese culture and was dominated by luxurious red pieces along with gothic black looks and sprinkles of monochrome and florals. On why creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli looked to Japan for inspiration, he said, “I have always been fascinated by the people and the culture of Japan, more than the surface.” He continued, “I didn’t want to take the images of Japan and treat them in a couture or Valentino way, but I wanted to bring the culture of Japan because it is close to my idea of beauty. For me beauty is about diversity, it is about individualism, and intimacy.” To conclude, red petal roses littered the runway while Kaia Gerber and Adut Akech sashayed down the runway in coordinating romantic gowns. Perfection. [Images]

Pretty Is Back In Fashion For Spring!

Last Updated on 13th March 2017 Pretty is back, and isn’t it about time? Oh, there’s plenty of hard-edged stuff out there if you want to go that way, but with all the glorious flowers bursting into bloom at this time of year, it seems more fitting – and fun – to follow the one fashion trend of 2017 that celebrates femininity.  Here’s what to look for: Romantic Swimwear Romantic suits with definite lingerie influences, and boho styles with delicate handcrafted touches are the freshest looks for the beach. Tankinis aren’t a new thing in women’s swimsuits, but this year they fit right into the feminine trend, still baring as much as you dare, but not putting it all out there. Leaving a little something to the imagination can be a lot more intriguing than wearing something that says “hey, look at me!” Floaty Dresses As light as a warm breeze, you’ll find floaty dresses in florals that rival a garden show’s finest. Whether you choose a dress that’s short or one that grazes your calves, you’ll find yourself walking like a lady maybe for the first time in years. The runway shows were full of beauties from Oscar de la Renta, Alexander McQueen, Rodarte, Valentino, and other vaunted designers, and their influences have filtered down to wonderful dresses for day and evening in every price range. Billowy Sleeves We know you’ve sweated bullets at the gym to get those amazingly toned arms, but they don’t have to be on display all the time. Change it up from the hard body sleeveless look with long sleeves that billow softly from shoulder to wrist and add new interest to tops and dresses. One of the most romantic looks out there is the troubadour shirt with voluminous sleeves and a neckline that […]

Jessica Alba Is Blooming Perfect At Mechanic: Resurrection Premiere

Last Updated on 10th October 2016 Much like off-shoulder pieces, the denim jacket and mules amongst a few other trends, florals re-entered our wardrobes in spring and show no signs of leaving anytime soon. However autumn floral prints are slightly different to the bright and bold flowers we saw in spring/summer ’16 – they’re darker and edgier in comparison. Channelling autumn/winter ’16 florals beautifully was none other than Jessica Alba who looked gorgeous as always in a strapless, floor-length floral gown by Dolce & Gabbana at the Los Angeles premiere of Mechanic: Resurrection. Keeping accessories to a bare minimum, Jessica opted to carry her essentials in an emerald green version of Edie Parker’s “Jean” clutch. Simple yet sophisticated. We’re loving her look. Are you?

Floral Print Suit For Spring? Yes, Please!

Last Updated on 30th June 2016 Before you say it, we know we’re in the middle of winter. Temperatures have seriously plummeted and snow has finally graced us with it’s presence. But, that doesn’t have to stop us from dreaming of all the lovely outfits spring holds in store for us, which of course includes florals.  Florals are as committed to spring as the super cute David Beckham is to our beloved Victoria, therefore each season designers must look for creative and wonderful ways to rework the much loved print. Our fave interpretation so far has got to be Jenny Packham’s 70’s inspired floral suits. Drawing inspiration from two legendary icons – Nick Cave and Patti Smith, Packham’s floral suits are bang on trend, as our obsession with all things 70’s is set to continue right on into SS16. Last Updated on 14th December 2022 Those of us of a certain age who wore the afghan coat when it was definitely groovy to do so, will no doubt have no hesitation in getting all nostalgic about all the other items that are so firmly associated with the 1970’s. You can now back in time quicker than Austin Powers with a retro makeover of your home and there is definitely a groovy design revival for all things 70’s. Many old trends are becoming popular again. As an example, personalized neon bar signs for home or custom man cave neon sign can help you get that 70s feel within your home. Allowing you to be surrounded by decor that makes you feel good So if you really dig shag rugs, beaded curtains, flocked wallpaper and just about anything else that epitomised that fun and cool era which was the 1970’s, her is your chance to retrofit your home 70’s style. Separating the groovy from the cringe worthy Let’s be honest, not everything in the 1970’s was stylish and looking back at some of the designs that we used to wear makes you want to hide some of the photos, but some of the designs in our home were definitely super-cool. Groovy and trendy 1970’s houses featured plenty of strong curves and anything that wasn’t circular was square in more ways than one. You only have to look at what was considered stylish then, such as round conversation pits, circular rugs and plenty of curves in all the right places and you can instantly see why interior designers find it easy to update the look with a contemporary scale for a modern home. Certain things from every era are frankly a bit cringe worthy and deserve to stay firmly in the past, but some […]

To stripe, floral or gingham?

Last Updated on 30th June 2016 Stripes, florals and gingham take center stage this season with designers offering fresh and playful takes on each print respectively. Naturally, florals secured the leading role, although they face serious competition from ultra-chic gingham, while bold and powerful  stripes are determined to make a statement. Whether you opt to fill your wardrobe with all three or just one, integrating any of these three major trends needn’t be hard work. Some of our fave celebs have recently been spotted swapping their skinny jeans for flares and we love it. Yep, 70’s fashion is a huge trend this season. Kill two birds with one stone and nail both trends with this gorgeous knee-length floral dress from Esprit and platforms or a pretty floral top with retro-inspired flares and wedges for a trendy feminine approach.   STRIPES Admittedly, stripes can be very tricky to pull off, so keep it simple. Take a style tip from Altzurra and pair a tanned belt with a flattering shirt dress or wide-legged nautical trousers with a white wrap blouse for a non- complicated relaxed look. Play with proportion and incorporate stripes of all size. Large or small, vertical or horizontal, stripes won’t be going out of style any time soon. Gingham has taken on a life of it’s own this season and there’s no hard fast rules when it comes to pulling off the print. Revived by designers including Diane von Furstenberg and Bottega Veneta, a gingham dress complimented with a cute cardi makes for the ultimate spring look. Be a tad more adventurous and bare your midriff in a gingham skirt, sandals and finish off the look with a satchel for a great weekend get-away outfit.

How to decorate your home with a ‘Downton’ style

Last Updated on 1st December 2014 As well as providing quality entertainment and making us fall in love with the characters, the TV drama Downton Abbey has also shown us how to decorate our homes to make them look elegant and beautiful. Downton Abbey The program has just completed its fifth season, ending up in the early years of the 1920s. The era of the flapper has not truly begun, so the stately home is still exhibiting the elegance of the pre- and post-war years. If you want your home to have a little of the grandeur that the Abbey displays, you should be looking for luxurious fabrics and antique-style wooden furniture. The living room The living room or lounge is your reception area, the place where you bring your visitors, so this is the area to really pile on the opulence. Choose seating that has fabric rather than leather upholstery and do not be afraid of mixing your patterns. You can have large florals mixing with stripes, alongside plain fabrics. Hang floor-length curtains at your windows and be sure to be generous with the fabric to create a good drape. In terms of the color palette, you should aim for period colors, such as greens, reds and golds, but they should be in a muted tone rather than big and bold. The dining room Downton Abbey often includes scenes in the dining room and it has to be said, the family’s classic dining table does look stunning when dressed. Subdued lighting is key in the dining room, so dress the center of your table with silver or glass candelabra, the fussier in design the better. Decorate around the bases with colorful flowers and accentuate the centerpiece with greenery. Classic dining rooms are often decorated in deep, rich colors; red […]

AW14 Jewellery Report: Spring Fair & LFW

Last Updated on 29th July 2014 Jewellery has immersed itself as an indispensable part of fashion; gone is the divide between costume jewellery and fine jewellery. More specifically, since the rise of the elaborate bib necklace and body jewellery, accessories are longer a decorative afterthought but a key feature of any outfit. This was all unquestionably apparent at the most recent Spring Fair trade show at the NEC back in February and also at London Fashion Week AW/14. Today, no outfit is complete without the perfect piece of jewellery and this has been no secret at recent trade exhibitions. But whilst on one hand we have bold and daring left-field designers such as KTZ adorning their catwalk models in shameless trimmings, we also have some tenacious classics creeping back in. Statement Pieces: KTZ, Simone Rocha & Jane Bowler At LFW, KTZ certainly made its mark with its powerful and authoritative accessories, along with Simone Rocha’s unashamed applications of large, gold adornments. Jane Bowler, who unveiled her collection at the London Fashion Week designer showrooms, addressed the audience with a new concept of how jewellery and garment design could merge into one discipline, using accessories to replace garments. Newcomer, Nadia Dafri made an impression at the February Spring Fair fashion show with a flamboyant and intimidating colourful collection which is sure to set light to the fashion scene. Or for something more accessible, Sarah Angold’s Topshop collection released to the public with a bang last year, featuring some eye catching and uber contemporary acrylic pieces. Floral Flutters for AW14 Surprisingly, florals have found a solid platform in AW14 designer collections. As a trend which flickers in and out of the limelight with fabrics, floral designs have never had much credence in the accessory design world. Floral prints, which can easily be […]

Emily Blunt covers Harper’s Bazaar’s July issue

Last Updated on 30th May 2014 We raved about Emily Blunt’s The Edge of Tomorrow premiere style a few days ago, and it seems like we aren’t the only ones who love her at the moment. Harper’s Bazaar UK must be pretty infatuated with the actress too – why else would it choose to put her on the cover of its July issue, eh? The actress was shot by Alexi Lubormirski and is rocking some seriously cool summer ensembles on the cover and in the editorial. She also opens up about everything from babies to bodies among other things, including how much her daughter Hazel has changed her life… “Everything has slowed down. You realise that nothing else really matters,” she said of life after giving birth. “This industry can make you feel that all that stuff matters; this rather transient world and the gush and the work and the success and the competition. You can get drawn into that bubble, of thinking it all matters. “Having a baby has made me realise that it doesn’t. None of it. It really doesn’t.” We bet little Hazel will love reading that statement back when she’s older; we had no doubts that Emily would be the perfect mother! You can read the rest of Emily’s interview in the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar when it hits newsstands on June 4th.

Kirsten Dunst blossoms on Harper’s Bazaar UK May cover

We can’t quite contain our excitement about The Amazing Spider-Man 2 featuring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone hitting the silver screen soon, but we haven’t forgotten about the female star of the original trilogy Kirsten Dunst either. Kirsten has had so many great roles pre and post Spider-man, and has continued to blossom over the years – and blossom really is the key word on her Harper’s Bazaar UK May cover! This might just be one of the most spring/summer appropriate covers we’ve seen so far! Kirsten is rocking the natural beauty look on the cover, and florals feature heavily in the editorial too. If you’re not in the mood for summer after looking at the editorial then will eat our metaphorical hats! As well as posing in some of the most divine summer-ready pieces, Kirsten talks to the mag about her new film, her love of a good onesie (hers apparently has monkeys on!), and femininity… “I feel like the feminine has been a little undervalued,” she said. “We all have to get our own jobs and make our own money, but staying at home, nurturing, being the mother, cooking – it’s a valuable thing my mom created. “And sometimes, you need your knight in shining armour. I’m sorry. You need a man to be a man and a woman to be a woman. That’s why relationships work…” Do you agree with Kirsten? You can read the rest of the interview and see even more gorgeous pics in the Harper’s Bazaar UK May issue, out now.

From London to Paris and Beyond: A Fashion Week Beauty Trend Report

Last Updated on 19th February 2014 It may be the dead of winter in most locations north of the Equator, but Fashion Week signals the beginning of spring for industry insiders and for fashion-savvy females everywhere. Held in New York City, Milan, London and Paris, Fashion Week provides top-level fashion houses and up-and-coming designers with the opportunity to show off their best efforts in anticipating the warmer temps to come. All across Europe as well as in the Big Apple, women eagerly mark Fashion Week on their calendars each year. Most of the looks on display on the runways during Fashion Week will never make it past couture shops catering to exclusive clienteles. Nonetheless, affordable interpretations of the most accessible pieces will make their way to certain online specialists that cater to women whose budgets may be limited but who nonetheless wish to maintain a sense of style. Some of the most anticipated trends for 2014 will be familiar to many; the classic look that never goes out of fashion is all the rage. Florals, of Course What is spring without flowers? An explosion of floral patterns will be everywhere, from flowing skirts to chic tops peeking out from beneath tailored blazers. Large, playful floral patterns will be found on dresses meant for garden parties and more casual occasions. More sedate florals will make their way to office-worthy separates. Even daytime weddings will be blessed with colorful blooms on bridesmaids’ dresses and sprinkled amongst frocks worn by guests. Solids that pick up one or more colors found among floral patterns are a cant-miss match for fashion-conscious but somewhat cautious women. Bolder females will mix and match florals and prints or florals and neutrals. To pull off this somewhat-daring look, at least one of the contrasting patterns should be somewhat more […]

Preen Morgan forget-me-not print dress: Yay or Nay?

Last Updated on 2nd December 2013 What’s an evening dress to be, if it’s not an LBD? Well, apart from being a classic turned on its head, said dress needs to elicit the same reaction when you arrive at the party, as a traditional evening look would. Making us feel like we could effortlessly betray the ease of a noir number is the Preen Morgan forget-me-not print dress (£938). So, are you swayed, or still unsure about ditching the trusty LBD for a look-at-me cocktail dress? Let our reasons for saying Yay and Nay to the Preen Morgan dress below help you seal the (dress) deal: Yay Great alternative: Warning: The Preen Morgan dress will make you stray from the sticking to evening wear rules. 3-in-1 Trend piece: Effortlessly packing winter florals, a fluted hemline and very now neckline into one nifty dress. One-wear-then-despair: Yes, that dreaded wardrobe situation, where you discard of a dress after one outing? Could the Preen Morgan dress end up in that pile? Highlights from the Mulberry spring/summer 2014 press day

Last Updated on 4th February 2014 Yesterday we headed to one of our favourite spots in Kensington – the Mulberry showroom – for the spring/summer 2014 press day! If we had left the MFL office earlier, we would have run straight into Kate Middleton selling poppies at the tube station! Never mind, eh?! We got up close and personal with the new ready-to-wear collection. It consisted of fun florals, luxurious textures, perfectly executed tailoring, bright colours juxtaposed with subtler hues, and much more. Our favourite pieces included a pink striped top and skirt, a white floral dress, and a bright orange dress – what can we say, we love a bit of colour! Now the best bit: the bags! It was all about the double sidedness as far as the bags this spring/summer 2013 season were concerned. That means you can wear a white clutch bag one day and flip it over and wear the black version the next. Or you can totally unzip them and give one to your best friend for an incredible colour coordinated outing… just make sure she gives it back at the end of the night. Probably easier said than done! It wasn’t just about the clutch bags though – all our old favourites also came with a double sided design too – two times the space and ten times the fun! The rest of the accessories didn’t let us down either – belts, scarves, purses – you name it, Mulberry is all over it! Another stunning collection that hasn’t disappointed. Here are more of our highlights from the new-season collection:

This Seasons Must Haves!

Last Updated on 18th October 2013 We love autumn. We love the new trends that come with a new season and most of all we love updating our wardrobes. Any excuse! Here’s our top fashion fix pieces to pick up before winter rears its ugly head! THE WRAP AROUND DRESS Made famous by DVF, over at Bonmarche in-house designer David Emmanuel gives us his take on the inspirational classic and it’s a beauty. A simple golden rule of dressing well is to know your own shape and work with it, not against it. As the wonderful Gok Wan has proved to millions of ladies, there are lots of tricks to maximize your “good bits” and play down the less-so-pleasing. When it comes to looking good, it is not your actual size or shape that matters at all, it’s the cut and fit of the clothes you choose to complement your body proportions and colouring! In jewel block colours and various prints the erap around dress is flattering to just about any shape, which is why it’s a MUST in our wardrobe. The drape and softness of jersey is both snug as well as gently sculpting. With this dress falling around mid-calf, petite ladies might like to team with heels for work or a special occasion. THE PRINT DRESS Checks were much talked about in the upcoming autumn/winter collections and Bonmarche, as ever, are right on trend, with the David Emanuel Dogtooth print dress, another office or drinks party pleaser. This dress is sleeveless, so not ideal for anyone self-conscious about her arms. If you like to keep upper arms covered up, then the range of feminine lacy half sleeve tops is perfect for you. Team with metallic-stitch stretch style jeans for a casual smart combination. This will skim over the […]

Givenchy floral bomber jacket: Yay or Nay?

Last Updated on 19th October 2013 Give a veteran wardrobe piece a seasonal overhaul, and the style set are all over it like a rash. That’s what happened with autumn’s latest staple hit, the striking Givenchy floral felt wool bomber jacket, which pretty much left us scraping our jaws off the ground. Well, we know the starry celeb set is a fan; Carine Roitfeld fronted the autumn/winter 2013 Givenchy campaign, avec her perfect-faced daughter, and Kim Kardashian is a front row fixture, dripping in the luxury fashion house’s runway fresh pieces, and referring to creative designer Riccardo Tisco as ‘Ricky’ (all casual names, and stuff). So, putting the eye-popping bomber’s purchasing potential to the test, here’s our round up of the reasons why you should (and probably shouldn’t) buy the Givenchy floral bomber:  Yay Statement piece: If there ever were a head-turner, this blooming bomber (pardon the pun) would be it! The off-centre zip detail, multi-pink, green and black floral print and silver-tone hardware make this jacket a must-have piece for those who love an off-kilter feminine piece. Classic style jacket: The sportier sibling of the traditional biker jacket, you can’t beat a bomber jacket when it comes to stocking up on staples. The slightly curved hemline and relaxed fit bring a fresh appeal to this modern style essential. Day-to-night option: The heady print makes this Givenchy floral bomber jacket perfect for pairing with an all black ensemble for work, and heading straight out for cocktails when the clock stikes 5.30pm! Just don’t forget to slip into your best heels. Nay  Price: They don’t say fashion bleeds you dry without good reason! Ringing in at a piggy bank emptying £2,970, it’ll be beans on toast for supper every evening. Trend-centric: Although we were gagging to grab this bomber jacket the minute Tisci sent […]

Gwyneth Paltrow vs. Rose Byrne…Who wore Erdem better?

Ah, a floral ensemble we do love! Nothing beats the usual summery thrill associated with slipping into a sartorially acceptable bouquet, but this week’s fash off contenders make the case for winter florals all the more stronger. Sporting a same-but-different look from Erdem’s blooming floral-printed autumn/winter 2013 offerings, A-listers Gwyneth Paltrow and Rose Byrne took to appearing at red carpet events with the sole intention of turning quite a few heads. (naturally) First up, Gwyneth took to the Iron Man 3 Paris premiere red carpet, back in April, in the matching, sharp shouldered floral-printed top and trouser ensemble.  The lithe limbed Hollywood royal looked radiant, with straightened glossy locks and neutral makeup, allowing her flowery look to take centre stage. But looking equally bloomin’ gorgeous was I Give It A Year starlet, Rose Byrne, who attended a special screening of the film in New York in July, wearing the dress version of Gwyneth’s look. The pretty frock features black chiffon inserts and chiffon overlay on the skirt, which suitably amps up the darker mood of her look to perfection. Pointed pumps, soft curls and nude make-up rounded off Rose’s look nicely. Although it’s a tough one, as the different takes on the same base print are equally desirable, there can only be one winner. And this week, we’re crowning…*drum roll, please*…Rose Byrne our fash-off champion, because we love the moody edge her otherwise twee dress exudes. Gwyneth’s look is striking, too, but a bit too much to take in at once. Do you agree with our verdict? Whose look do you like?
