If you could go back to any time in history, what age would you choose?

If I could go back to any time in history, I would go back to the Medieval times. I mean, if the restaurant is that cool, daily life must have been a blast!!

What’s your favourite movie, song and memory?
Favorite movie/song? Too many to name. It’s about a moment.

What has been your greatest opportunity?

Contributing to the New York Times

How do you think technology has changed photography?

Technology has changed photography in many ways; some are good, some are bad. The best thing about it is that the digital age has enabled us to push our own creative limits further yet at the same time redefined classicism. The worst thing about the digital age is that anyone can now be a photographer and forego learning the basic techniques and experiences of wet and dry darkrooms. Most importantly, the dedication of time.

What do you think makes a successful photograph?

Composition, content, emotion

Has there ever been a point in your career when you’ve had difficulty finding work? And if so how did/do you manage to keep yourself motivated and inspired?

After I left the Patrick McMullan studio things were very slow. I made phone call after phone call and nothing. I kept myself motivated by testing girls, developing story ideas, and continuing to photograph backstage at fashion shows. Eventually the phone started ringing.

What are your top tips for those pursuing a career in fashion photography?

Everything takes time. The longer you stay in the game the better your chances for recognition. The hard part is staying afloat before the ship comes to take you onboard.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

Wow. I listen to everyone. A good one I heard recently was, we were created with two eyes, two ears, and ONE mouth for a reason. Is that advice or wisdom?

and finally who do you think is America’s Top model?

Who’s from America?
