Name: Claudia Rosa Lukas

Occupation: Designer for Graphics, Costumes and Fashion.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Influences are everywhere, mainly people around me. The way of their thinking, living and acting. Sometimes it could be just a dropped shadow that inspires me.

Describe your style?

In my work I express myself as a multi-layered affair, combining minimalism -clean cuts and structured shapes- with female sensuality and persuasiveness.

How did you get into fashion design?

I really do not know. It just happened. I grew up on the countryside, where really nothing happens, and clothes were bought out of a mail-order catalogue.

If you could work with any designer, whom would it be?

Uhh…, there are so many out there.Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Prada, Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, Rick Owens, etc. etc. etc.

What do you think about designers such as Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfeld teaming up with high street stores?

I like it, as long as they try to do something different, not just copying their own styles.

Which city do you think has the best fashion sense?

It depends on what are you looking for in ´fashion’. I cannot divide it in worst or best fashion sense. But, if you want a fashionable answer, I would say New York.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

Not the best, but a good one: Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
