My last stop before calling it a wrap at Fashion Week was the Gen Art show featuring Camilla Staerk. For the first time, Gen Art showcased the work of only one designer instead of their typical three, displaying their resolute confidence in the new talent.

The collection was titled ‘Bride of the Black Moon’ and appropriately many pieces were done completely in black leather and lace. The models wore heavy eyeliner, bowler hats and what looked like men’s patent-leather oxford shoes, creating an austere and masculine air to the presentation.

The pencil skirts were fitted to a tee, and her ability to create interesting shaping with leather, especially in the fringed pieces, made her collection sculptural and all around original.
