Not even a week after the royal wedding and already the first high street copy of Kate’s McQueen wedding dress has emerged.

Northern Irish bridal designer Mary-Rose McGrath created the replica within 24 hours of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding on Friday, working tirelessly with her team to finish the dress before most had finished partying.

“I’ve a really brilliant team,” says McGrath. “We gathered together on Friday and the minute Kate stepped out we were sketching and began to cut fabrics.”

The gown features long lace sleeves, an elongated neckline and intricate appliqué detailing on the silk skirt to bear a striking resemblance to Sarah Burton’s design, and is currently on display outside House of Fraser in Belfast on Victoria Square.

The good news for royal fashion fans? The dress is available to order exclusively at House of Fraser, with prices starting at £1,500.
