Party Season Inspo: Kate Bosworth Sparkles At The Instyle Awards 2017

With party season on it’s way (yep it’s nearly that time of year ALREADY!), we’ve found ourselves turning to the red carpet for some much needed inspiration. Last night, Los Angeles played host to the InStyle Awards and naturally there was much party season inspo to be found on all the gorgeous celebrities in attendance. However, while we’re usually pretty decisive on whether we absolutely love or hate a look, when it came to this sparkly gold sequinned number by Alexandre Vauthier (from his Spring/Summer 2018 collection) as seen on Kate Bosworth, we’re torn to say the least. Whilst we love the dress and it’s gorgeous split, we’re not quite sure how we feel about the blue floral accessory. What do you think? Is it a big fat yay or a disappointing nay?

The stunning actress and newlywed was shot by Max Abadian and styled by Arabella Greenhill, and can be seen rocking some of the dreamiest pieces in existence courtesy of Valentino, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu and Mary Katrantzou, among many fabulous others. Kelly Rowland vs. Kate Bosworth…Who wore Balmain better?

Two ladies. One blingin’ dress. You know the drill. This week’s fash-off comes courtesy of leggy lovely, Kelly Rowland and Hollywood darling Kate Bosworth. Both ladies were spotted in the same Balmain Fall 2013 dress, albeit with very different style results. Although a top, thanks to the oversize fit, Kate was the first one to turn this embellished showstopper into a dress, at the 2013 Met Gala. Unlike the runway look, Kate went with bare legs, a gold belt to cinch the waist and simple black pumps. A small black clutch and strong eyeliner completed the look nicely. But catching up with Kate in the style stakes was X Factor judge Kelly Rowland, who styled the same dress differently for an appearance on season three of the American show, last year. Pairing the top-cum-dress with nothing other than white Tom Ford pumps and her voluminous locks, Kelly rocked a killer pose, as she posted the outfit on Instagram. But, seeing as it’s a fash-off, there can only be one winner, so we’re going to slip the first style crown of 2014 onto Kate’s head! There isn’t much that Kelly can’t 100 per cent rock, but we love Kate’s accessories, and feel the belt does wonders to frame her petite shape. Definitely a striking, and memorable look from 2013! Whose look wins for you? [Images: Kelly; Kate]

Kate Bosworth stuns in Alexander McQueen crepe dress

She may have just debuted her second collection for Topshop by way of a fun and fan video directed by her husband Michael Polish (check it out right here in case you’ve been living under a rock and missed it), but Kate Bosworth definitely left all signs of the British high street behind when she attended the SiriusXM Studios in New York yesterday to promote her new film Big Sur.  The stunning actress and fashionista made all heads turn as she arrived for her promotional appearance in a striking cobalt blue cap sleeve crepe dress by none other than Alexander McQueen. It was clean, sharp, simple and sophisticated; definitely one of her best looks of the last few months which is quite an achievement considering she has been on fire (sartorially and figuratively speaking of course) of late. Do you love Kate’s latest look as much as we do? [Image]

Watch Kate Bosworth model her second collection for Topshop

Kate Bosworth’s debut collection for Topshop was a huge success, and judging by what we see before us this morning, we have every confidence that her sophomore offering will be just as well received. “The collection is tailored and classic. For fall, we wanted to create luxurious pieces with a strong minimalist approach,” Kate Bosworth said. “”Slim silhouettes are cloaked in a masculine shape, staying true to the mix of masculine/feminine balance that exists in my personal aesthetic.” Masculine meets feminine is something Kate Bosworth does so well, and it’s really reflected in the new collection. You can see some highlights of the collection in the video below, with pictures that were photographed by her husband Michael Polish. The 46-piece collection lands in stores worldwide and online from today, with prices ranging from £35 to £500.

Kate Bosworth gets married in Oscar de la Renta

Congratulations to newlyweds Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish! The happy couple tied the knot at the weekend during an intimate ceremony in Phillipsburg, Montana.… and as she revealed during her candid interview with The Edit, she did indeed walk down the aisle in Oscar de la Renta. In fact reports are claiming she wore two ODLR dresses! Hubby Michael Polish scrubbed up well too, looking very dapper in Brooks Brothers. Don’t they look gorgeous in the picture? Kate’s wedding pics are set to be featured in the winter issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, out in December, so this picture will have to tide us over until then. Looking good so far, though! Kate Bosworth ladylike in Lanvin for The Edit

Kate Bosworth is gracing the front of The Edit’s latest issue – and grace really is a key word as she looks ladylike, elegant, and well, graceful! Kate proves that she is a style chameleon and a dream for all red carpet designers to dress as she rocks every single outfit she is given – from Victoria Beckham to Gucci to Dolce and Gabbana and more! She also opens up about a number of topic too, including her relationship with her step-daughter, her evolving personal style, and of course, choosing a designer for her wedding dress… “There was no doubt about the designer,” she began, referring to Oscar de la Renta who she has asked to create her gown. But there was a feeling of, ‘Do I dance around the bridal thing and wear a dress I could wear for the red carpet?’ But lately I’m all about coming out of my comfort zone and challenging myself, so I decided to embrace the moment. It has been a real discovery of that part of myself.” You can read more in Net a Porter’s The Edit.

Kate Bosworth wows on InStyle UK’s September 2013 cover

And now it’s time to check out another one of our favourite September covers… InStyle UK hit the nail right on the head when it snapped up Kate Bosworth for the prestigious September issue. Just look at the cover image above for proof! Kate was photographed by Cedric Buchet, and can be seen rocking a number of high fashion clothes from the likes of Valentino, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu and more. And of course her interview is just as powerful as the pictures themselves, as she talks to the mag about her upcoming nuptials, her fiancé Michael Polish, and bidding farewell to her twenties… “There’s not been one female I’ve spoken to who has told me their twenties were easy,” she said. “Everyone talks of how difficult your teens can be, but the rough and tumble of your twenties is a bit of secret. “In one sense it was a whole lot of fun but I felt confused and I like I was going through growing pains a lot.” You can find out more in InStyle UK’s September issue and by heading to the website for a sneaky behind-the-scenes look at Kate’s photoshoot.

First look at Kate Bosworth for Topshop Festival collection

Kate Bosworth and chic festival style seem to go hand in hand, don’t they? Hence why we weren’t the least bit surprised to find out that she had teamed up with good old Topshop to help the high street store with a festival collection. Why wasn’t it done sooner? “Our intent was to create fresh, wearable, and effortless festival pieces,” Kate said. “I am proud of our work together and I adore these pieces, they fit perfectly with the mood of the ‘Topshop Festival’ collection.” Although Kate didn’t design the collection herself, she was Topshop’s muse during the designing process, and she has of course been given the task of modelling the finished pieces in a Californian desert. Who else would they get, eh? The 16-piece collection features all your festival essentials, including cut off denim shorts, crop tops, fun dresses, and even the less essential (but always encouraged) angel wings. It lands in stores and online tomorrow – try to contain your excitement! [Images]

Kate Bosworth’s Topshop festival collection

Ever since she was unveiled as the mystery woman behind that “who’s that girl” Christmas ad campaign, Kate Bosworth’s professional relationship with Topshop has just kept on expanding. Her latest project with the high street store? A festival collection apparently! We’d like to point out that she didn’t actually design the piece herself like some of the other celeb-meets-high street collections out there, but she did have quite a bit of “creative input”, whatever that means. “The design team and I thought a lot about the festival season, and, particularly with this collection, a lot of it was about the California girl,” she said. “Obviously the perfect place to wear it was Coachella.” According to reports, “the 360 degree campaign involves music, clothes, film, journeys and the attitude and energy of British festivals,” and we can expect to see more unfold later on in the year. Sounds pretty cool to us, what say you?

Watch Kate Bosworth star in Topshop’s Winter Wonderland interactive Christmas campaign

High street fave Topshop has just released its first ever Christmas film – a 360 degree interactive digital campaign featuring the one and only Kate Bosworth! For the past five days, the Twittersphere and overall blogosphere has been buzzing with speculation about who the mysterious campaign star could be, as Topshop has been sneakily releasing pics of Kate in various locations with her face blurred out. People were invited to guess the identity of the mysterious star by using the #whosthatgirl hashtag for a chance to win a £500/$1000 Christmas shopping spree. Did you get it right? The film features Kate Bosworth performing the classic Christmas tune Winter Wonderland wearing a custom-made evening dress that she designed with the high street store. “This project brings together two important aspects of my life: cinema and fashion,” Kate said in the press release. “I have always been a fan of the Topshop brand and it has been an honour to work with Sir Phillip and the team. I hope everyone enjoys watching it as much as we did making it.” The film will be shown on the store’s website, cinemas, digital billboards, giant screens installed in flagship stores and interactive audio windows worldwide. Do you love Kate’s dress and shoes? They will be available as a special made to order on the website in conjunction with the new store opening in LA in February next year, so keep your eyes peeled for more deets about that when we get them. We’re glad the mystery has finally been solved! http://youtu.be/bULAE2cZDJI

Kate Bosworth scoops Best Dressed of the week in Preen

Last week we told you how we were unable to contain our excitement at the SS’13 fresh wares appearing on the red carpet, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this week we’re once again waxing lyrical about another hot, next season outfit. A refreshing move away the moody autumn/winter’12 palette (we want summer already!), Kate Bosworth attended a skincare promotional event in Sydney in a stunning ensemble from the Preen Spring 2013 collection. Wearing one of next season’s most prominent trends, white, Kate’s standout look was enhanced by the floral print bib front on her shirt, and the asymmetric cut of her skirt brought a stylish edge to this pretty summer look. Fresh faced as ever; Kate opted for a scraped back ponytail, accompanied by a pop of pink on the lips and accessorised her look with pointed white pumps. Oh, summer! Hurry along so we can look as good as Ms. Bosworth, or at least attempt to!

Coachella Style Special: Kate Bosworth

Kate Bosworth is one of those actresses who is now more famous for her fashion than her films. Last year at the Coachella Festival when she donned a white crochet dress from Topshop it was an instant sell out, proving that the 27-year-old Superman star is a trend setter in her own right – and this year was no different as the blonde beauty outdid herself in the style stakes once again. Attending the festival with her True Blood star boyfriend Alexander Skarsgard, she kept her Americana look cool and casual – we love her patriotic American flag vest and matching white shorts. Her chunky lace-up boots added an element of laid-back grunge and she finished with her Rayban aviators that she’s rarely seen without these days. Throw on a few layered necklaces and she’s firmly cemented her place on our best dressed list. But what do you think? Cast your votes below! [poll id=”85″]

Who wore it best? Diane Kruger and Kate Bosworth in Dolce & Gabbana

And so the fash-clashes continue as we see a lace style-off in L.A between a sultry Diane Kruger at the premiere of her latest film Unknown and Kate Bosworth at Nylon’s Magazine’s March issue party, where both actresses wore a spring 2011 Dolce & Gabbana embellished lace mini. Diane’s classically elegant effort could’ve won her a fashion Oscar, opting for a smooth, low-slung bun, nude Brian Atwood ‘Maniac’ pumps and minimal accessories. Kate, on the other hand, dressed her looser-fitting version in typically pared down style, teaming it with messy beach hair, black ankle boots and a khaki cargo jacket. We think they both look pretty darn amazing, but, naturally, there can only be one winner in the inevitable who-styled-it-right fight. So whose look are you digging? Chic and sleek à la Diane, or eclectically edgy like Kate? Cast your votes below! [poll id=”66″]

Kate Bosworth in Chloe

The Sundance Film Festial has begun, and as the stars flock to Utah, our eyes are are firmly placed on the red carpet where we’re certain to see sartorial hits aplomb. Of course, we’ve already been treated to a few fashionable delights, and thanks to Kate Bosworth, we’re coveting a new ‘do and dress to keep up with the fashion cool. Choosing a black Chloe dress in contrasting leather and silk, the increasingly-impressive style icon gave a luxe lesson in modern minimalism – the cropped leather body with its just-seen cut-out on this seemingly simple shift shows a subtle flash of skin whilst the A-line silk skirt falls to the knee for a well-balanced style. Add a pair of sheer opaques, ankle-tie points, fuss-free makeup and classic contrasting waves in bright blonde, Ms. Bosworth’s bowled us over once again with her clean cuts and eye for detail. Achingly chic, effortlessly cool – well played, Kate.

Kate Bosworth in Chanel

Kate Bosworth has always wowed the fashion critics across the board with her elegant style and ability to even make wearing an old sack look amazing, so low and behold, the 27-year-old actress turned up to the MOCA Los Angeles Gala on Saturday looking suitably stunning in a floor-sweeping Chanel dress. Well, the event was sponsored by the luxury French label… The black satin gown, laced with sheer inserts and a full-length skirt, came straight off the SS11 runway – and the ruffled shoulder detailing, contrasting textures and peek-a-boo panels certainly made Kate the belle of the ball. With her enviable slender figure and American sweetheart good looks, this young Hollywood starlet can pull off almost any outfit – but she wears this Chanel particularly well (yep, we’re a little jealous right now).

Kate Bosworth in Proenza Schouler

Attending the 27th Annual Night of Stars in New York last week, actress and super style icon Kate Bosworth dazzled in straight-of-the-runway new-season Proenza Schouler. The vibrant orange and red striped shift dress from the designer duo’s spring 2011 collection looked perfect on Kate’s sample size figure, whilst the mesh effect stitching gave the outfit an interesting detailed finish. Simple black pumps and a matching clutch helped accessorise the outfit without taking any attention away from that eye-catching dress, and kept the fresh-feeling spring orange appropriate for autumn. It may have been the season of the curves, but style-setter Kate Bosworth has maintained her slender figure throughout – just don’t lose any more weight, Kate.

Kate Bosworth’s not a fan of shopping

Kate Bosworth never shops for fun. The 26-year-old actress doesn’t enjoy browsing for new clothes, and only visits stores when she knows exactly what she needs. The Met Gala 2014: The best dressed!

All the big names in fashion, film, and music gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City last night, for the highly anticipated Met Gala! This year, the museum was honouring Charles James, and the dress-code was a very simple (albeit slightly “boring” according to Marc Jacobs) “white tie and decorations”. Anyone familiar with the work of Charles James would know that elegant eveningwear was his thing, so they wouldn’t have gone wrong by donning the finest couture pieces with some elegant jewels. There were many ladies who absolutely nailed their looks, while some probably should have stayed home. Stella McCartney had a big moment on the red carpet, dressing the likes of Rihanna and Reese Witherspoon so flawlesslessly for the event, in two very different but equally stunning dresses. Rihanna went for her signature sexy look, while Reese was a vintage glamour goddess. Selena Gomez also wowed on the red carpet for us, looking very mature for just 21 years old in a bold deep purple Diane von Furstenberg dress. We also love how Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively and Leighton Meester were reunited at the Met Gala – they both looked amazing in  their respective Gucci Premiere and Emilio Pucci dresses. Not all of the ladies went for full-length or ballgown dresses (like Hayden Panettiere who looked like a Princess!) though – Solange Knowles and Lena Dunham were just two of the stars who went for something a little bit shorter. The impact definitely wasn’t lost though. Here are our best dressed celebs from last night’s Met Gala. Let us know who gets your vote in the comments below. Take a fashion forward step with statement shoes!

Shoe lovers everywhere will agree that a pair of statement shoes are the ideal accessory to elevate any outfit from standard to head turning. Whether they’re an eye catching colour or feature intricate detailing or bold prints, shoes have the power to transform. Consider a plain outfit consisting of black cigarette pants and a loose fitting black shirt – add a pair of statement shoes such as leopard print flats, coral courts, embellished wedges or luxurious slippers and you’ll have a great look. For statement shoe inspiration check out a few celebrities whom we think have got it just right…. Laura Whitmore has emerged as a style icon with an edge over the past few years, teaming unusual items together but always carrying it off. Here she’s complemented a white button down shirt and shorts with skyscraper leopard print boots. We love them and the shade looks great with her blonde hair and that cool satchel. Anne Hathaway is quite a classic dresser, most often opting for simple and chic styles, so it’s refreshing to see her add a bit of spice with these gorgeous tangerine courts. They add interest to an otherwise low key outfit, and the combination of pale pink lace with loud shoes looks great. Cameron Diaz is a fan of skin-tight outfits which show off her athletic frame. The Vanity Fair and Elton John Oscars after parties: The best dressed!

In true Hollywood fashion, some pretty spectacular after-parties followed, and once again they came courtesy of Vanity Fair and Elton John. Cue another best-dressed list which was pretty hard to conduct because the famous faces of Tinsel Town really “brought it” in the sartorial sense. Some ladies continued with the elongated and elegant dresses (i.e. respective Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress winners Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway) while others decided to go more fun and flirty and flashed the flesh in some shape or form. Celebrities Rocking the Wedge Sneaker Trend

[noskim] Forget Manolos and Louboutins, this season there’s only one way celebs are looking to get their high heel fix: with wedge sneakers. Hollywood A-listers aren’t just wearing their favourite pair of kicks to the gym these days; lately they’ve been spotted incorporating sneakers into their wardrobes in ultra fashionable ways. The wedge trainer trend has kicked off in a big way this autumn, creating a new look craze that combines the high-top sneaker with a chunky hidden wedge heel, to give stars extra lift as well as sporty street cred. Isabel Marant started the new fad when her new take on the old basketball favourite took to the runways as part of her S/S collection. Giving a traditionally masculine shoe an uber-trendy feminine edge, they’re currently taking the high fashion world by storm. Fashionistas have been using them to glam up their casual daywear, as a comfortable alternative to a sexy heel. The look has already taken to the high street too, with Nike launching their own swooshed-up version at JD Sports. So which celebs are stepping out in the new trend? Here are some of the latest stars spotted in the new look wedges. From keeping it on the down low to dressing them up for a night out on the town, they’re all rocking them in different ways, giving us some style inspiration, and proving that this shoe doesn’t just look cool, it’s versatile to boot. Miranda Kerr was one of the first A-listers to slip into wedge sneakers, seen strolling around JFK airport in a pair of red Isabel Marants. Teaming them with a pair of black skinny jeans and a button-down blouse, she kept it casual while travelling with her son. It seems celebrity mums are all big fans of the comfy new heels. Thoughts: Like the rest of the fash pack without a ticket, we headed to London’s Piccadilly Circus to watch Burberry Prorsum stream its autumn/winter 2011 collection live on the advertising screen, keen to witness a fashion moment in the making. It didn’t prove quite the poignant spectacle we’d hoped for, shown on the smallest segment without sound but with enough screen freezes and TFL ad interruptions to send us to an early grave, but a second screening at our desks provided all the captive atmosphere we missed first time around. Leather may have defined Burberry and its bikers for the past two seasons, but for autumn/winter 2011 the power house is hailing hair. On sleeves of tops, stoles on jackets, forming sumptuous coats or cuffing and hemming others, fur is Bailey’s fabric of choice next season, and he’s using it decadently. Leather still makes an appearance, though, in piping on padded macs, across skinny bow belts or on the trim of a dress. Chic wool coats in vibrant checks, bright block colours or earthy tones provide extra warmth, while wool-fleck matching separates and long-sleeved shift dresses with balloon skirts see ready-to-wear looking weather-appropriate, too. Worried about your fur getting wet? In a spectacular finale, Burberry’s got your back as models unite on the runway wearing matching black-trimmed clear Perspex capes over their cold-ready coats as a flurry of snow falls onto the catwalk – now that’s a moment. It’s not quite as exciting as in previous seasons, but Burberry’s latest collection is contemporary and commercial nonetheless (with a more sensual slant over the usually sexy aesthetic), and simple, sumptuous elements still leaves us impressed – as they did Kate Bosworth, Rachel Bilson and […]

Rodarte inspired by birds

Laura and Kate Mulleavy are inspired by bird-pecked fabric. The Rodarte designers first realised their take on fashion was different to others when they watched 1963 horror movie ‘The Birds’, which sees an American town besieged by the winged creatures. Referring to a scene which involves Tippi Hedren’s character Melanie Daniels attacked by a flock of birds, Kate explained: ‘Everyone in fashion loves Tippi wearing that green suit in ‘The Birds’, but we love the suit after she has been pecked.’

Daily Fix: The Boyfriend Blazer

Finding the perfect cover up for cool spring days and breezy summer nights is often a sartorial challenge. But fear not: This season we can borrow from the boys with a mannish, boyfriend blazer , it’s the season’s relaxed new way to work this wardrobe staple. Yes, the masculine, oversize boyfriend blazer has returned from the eighties. The Spring/Summer ’09 runways were awash with this adaptable look. Yves Saint Laurent’s was very sleek , big in the shoulder, narrow in the hips – paired over a miniskirt. Ralph Lauren grounded a floaty chiffon evening dress by topping it of with a boyfriend blazer while Hussein Chalayan paired his with nothing but boots.

Love your style: Michelle Williams

Remember Dawson’s Creek’s Jen Lindley?  The good girl gone bad, gone good, gone bad, gone good again?  While my contemporaries admired Joey Potter’s laid-back style, I was all about Jen’s indie rock chick cheerleader look.  There’s a complex style if ever I saw one – somehow the girl from the big city managed to swap sweet floral summerdresses in NY for ripped tights and revealing minis in Capeside.  But it was Jen’s casual look that accompanied her pixie crop that I’m still fond of now – a shirt, cigarette trousers, and flats – it’s a style the actress that portrayed Jen still pulls off today.

The Met Costume Institute Gala 2009: The Gowns

Forget the Oscars. Last night NY was awash with celebs who scrubbed up and donned their best outfits for the annual Met Costume Institute Gala. Hosted by Marc Jacobs, Kate Moss and Justin Timberlake, the purpose of the event was to honour “the model as a muse. With actresses and singers dominating campaigns and magazine covers, the supermodel is a dying breed. So what to do? Celebrate their existence with an exhibition and a ball. Top tables for the evening set guests back a Alaia snub, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Stephanie Seymour chose not to attend….a bit sad really as all three would have set the carpet on fire. But alas we do still have a lot of material to work with. So here goes.
