Eva Mendes & Ryan Gosling Welcome Baby Number Two

Not ones for the limelight, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes welcomed their second child two weeks ago and they kept it seriously under wraps. While we knew the couple were expecting, we had no idea that Eva was so far gone in her pregnancy. According to a birth certificate obtained by TMZ, the actress gave birth to a baby girl at the Providence St John’s Health Centre in Santa Monica on April 29th and the pair named her Amada Lee. Named after Eva’s grandmother, Amada is Spanish for “beloved” and the newborn also shares the name with their two year old daughter, Esmeralda, whose middle name is also Amada. Cute. We have no doubt she’s absolutely gorgeous like her parents…

It’s a girl for Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes!

Huge congratulations to the gorgeous Ryan Gosling and the equally (if not more) gorgeous Eva Mendes this morning, as it’s just been revealed that they have become parents for the very first time. Eva reportedly gave birth to a little baby girl on Friday September 12th, although no other news (i.e. how much she weighed or what they’ve decided to name her) has been released. Their secrecy doesn’t really surprise us though, as the couple have been very hush hush about the entire pregnancy up until a few months ago. Eva did a very good job of concealing her bump with baggy clothes and strategically placed large handbags, so we wouldn’t be surprised if it takes them months or even years to spill the beans. “Eva just hasn’t ever wanted anyone beyond her close friends and family knowing more than they had to. And Ryan is certainly private and always has been,” a source said about the pregnancy a few months ago. We hope you enjoy your little bundle of joy, guys! And congratulations again! [Grazia]

Eva Mendes’ brand new Valentine’s Day collection for New York + Company has finally been revealed, and it’s as dreamy and romantic as we could have ever hoped! Key pieces – our favourites, in other words – include the sleeveless black bodysuit and lace pencil skirt to the left, the Clarissa pearl and chain necklace in the middle, and the red hot 1950s inspired Alexis sleeveless dress on the end. Eva Mendes has once again outdone herself; should she want to give up the day job, we think she can have a very successful and lucrative career in fashion designing! Eva Mendes is the new face (and eyes) of Vogue Eyewear

Kate Moss did a cracking job of modelling Vogue Eyewear, so you might think it would be hard for her replacement to live up to expectations… but not when her replacement is none other than Eva Mendes! Eva was shot by Mario Testino in a gorgeous West Hollywood setting for the spring/summer 2013 campaign images, and is oozing glamour, elegance and all-round sexiness in each and every pic. “I really love glasses,” Eva said.  “Whether they are prescription glasses or sunglasses, they are an extension of your personality and such a fantastic accessory I love to mix and match and play with different looks, depending on my mood and my outfit. “My favourites are frames that have a slightly retro feel, specifically a little wink to the 50s, 60s or 70s. I’ve only recently had to have prescription eyeglasses, and honestly, I love it!” We would too if we had all those fabulous frames to choose from! Do you like Eva’s campaign? [Sassi Sam]

Eva Mendes turns fashion designer for New York & Co

Kate Hudson isn’t the only big-name actress to turn her hand to designing, oh no. Eva Mendes is hot on her trail, as it’s been revealed that the actress will be designing a collection for New York & Co, titled ‘Eva by Eva Mendes’, as well as appearing in ad campaigns and public appearances on behalf of the brand. Another great partnership in the making, we reckon. So what can we expect to see from this collection, you ask? Well Eva may have dropped one or two hints as far as her inspiration is concerned… “I love anything that winks to yesteryear,” Eva said. “You have to find what works for you. Quite a few times I’ve worn turbanlike accessories. In this day and age where everybody has a stylist, I appreciate the kind of woman who steps out of the box. “I love feeling like an individual. I want to share all these little tips with women.” Eva will reportedly produce four collections a year, although there’s currently no word on when the first one will drop. Fingers crossed we won’t have to wait too long! [Telegraph]

Eva Mendes in Prada

It was all wind and rain at launch of new film The Other Guys in London’s Leicester Square last night, but brightening up the miserable weather was brunette beauty Eva Mendes, who wowed us by wearing a green Prada halterneck dress. With beaded embellishment and nipped-in waist, Eva looked beautiful as she teamed her jewel-toned dress with a pair of satin aubergine heels – but it was her arm candy that most impressed us. The pretty pink floral clutch is from Prada’s 2008 Resort collection but against the emerald colour, we’d forgive anyone for thinking it was snapped up this season. We love Eva’s look and the fact that she’s not afraid to rework her fashion favourites. What do you make of her ensemble?

Blake Lively is pregnant with her first child, reveals baby bump in adorable pic!

Huge congratulations this morning to one of the hottest A-list couples in Hollywood – Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds – as it’s just been announced that the pair are expecting their first child. Amazing news to kick-start the week! We don’t think former Gossip Girl star Blake Lively will be concealing her baby bump like Eva Mendes, as she already posted a pic of it to her Preserve website, along with the following statement… “Preserve at its core is about family. Family is the single word our founder, Blake built this home on. We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realized we don’t have anything for the new. With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all—to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family. Today we celebrate them. With food to fill their tummies (as if that needs more filling), presents to soothe their tired (and swollen) soles, toys to warm their baby’s souls, projects to provoke them, and decorations to inspire creativity and merriment in all.” “We had too much fun with this,” Blake continued. “Because there’s so much to share, we break up our first ever Preserve Celebration into multiple parts. In the upcoming days we will bring even more treats and fun. The entire next month will be sprinkled with highlights for women in this exciting chapter of their lives. Congratulations to all the expecting mothers out there. And thank you for being a part of our Preserve family.” Aww – is that not one of the cutest ways of revealing a pregnancy? Congratulations to Blake and Ryan once again – no doubt we will see the expectant mummy in some killer maternity outfits in the next few months, […]

Georgia May Jagger is the new face of Thierry Mugler’s Angel

Things just keep on getting better for Georgia May Jagger, as she’s just been announced as the brand new face of Thierry Mugler’s Angel perfume. Georgia May Jagger and Angel fit together rather seamlessly, don’t you think? Especially as he her famous mother Jerry Hall was also once a Mugler Angel herself back in the day… “My mother was a muse of Mugler and appeared regularly in his Paris runway shows,” Georgia said. “I have such wonderful memories of the fragrance and my mother’s involvement with the Mugler brand. It’s very special to me to be following in my mother’s footsteps.” We can’t wait to see her first ad campaign land; she has some very big shoes to fill (Eva Mendes and Naomi Watts have also represented the fragrance) but we definitely think she is up to the challenge. We can expect to see her first ad debut on June 23rd, but we will have to wait until the autumn to see it break in the fashion glossies. Ps: didn’t GMJ look phenomenal in a Mugler dress at last night’s Met Gala? [Grazia]

Penelope Cruz sizzles for the 2013 Campari Calendar

Penelope Cruz’s flawlessness actually kills us. The stunning Spanish senorita is the sizzling subject of the 2013 Campari calendar, which was beautifully shot by Kristian Schuller. “Photographing the 2013 Campari Calendar is simply incredible and a totally unique challenge,” the photographer said. “Campari has a history of creating powerful and visually-stunning imagery, both in its advertising campaigns and the Calendar. “My intention was to continue this story of success by pushing the boundaries even further which I feel we have achieved. It is magnificent to work with someone as talented as Penelope, who truly embodied the theme for the latest edition of the Calendar by bringing her flair and versatility to the set.” Here, here! Penelope is the 14th lady to grace the pages of the calendar, and follows in the footsteps of other gorgeous women such as Jessica Alba, Eva Mendes, Milla Jovovich, Salma Hayek and Olga Kurylenko to name but a few. Wearing one stunning scarlet outfit after another, it’s pretty safe to say that the whole ‘lady in red’ theme has definitely come across. Penelope strikes a series of seductive poses in some of the hottest designer dresses around, from Salvatore Ferragamo to Emilio Pucci to all else in-between. And in case you haven’t noticed, the other theme of next year’s calendar is ‘kiss superstition goodbye’, which explains why she is walking on cracked pavements, standing under ladders, and posing with black cats and cracked mirrors among other things. We know that the Pirelli calendar is supposed to be one of the sexiest and most exclusive ones around, but we think the Campari calendar should come a very close second. Scorching! [Star Pulse]

British fashion reigns at the Met Ball

For an event that usually champions the best of American fashion, last night’s Met Ball saw a surprising amount of stars wearing gowns from British designers. Perhaps it was a nod towards last night’s honouree, the late Alexander McQueen, who’s life and work was celebrated in an accompanying exhibition, Savage Beauty, or maybe the world hasn’t quite recovered from royal wedding fever just yet – but either way, the Brits ruled the red carpet. Dressing the most celebs was Stella McCartney – also clad in her own label – who decked out an impressive 14 stars in her dresses (save a jumpsuit for Iman), including Rihanna, Naomi Watts, Eva Mendes, Maggie Gyllenhaal and BFFs Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Thandie Newton and Madonna. Also high up on the most-spotted list was, unsurprisingly, Alexander McQueen. Sarah Burton wore a white dress by her own design to honour her friend and mentor, while Daphne Guinness, Naomi Campbell, Gisele, Coco Rocha, Anna Dello Russo, Karen Elson, Racquel Zimmerman and Salma Hayek and Sarah Jessica Parker all paid tribute to the designer. And the list of Brits doesn’t stop there – Erdem dressed Lily Donaldson in a floor-length navy lace gown, Burberry bagged Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to wear a satin rose gown and nude python clutch, and Alexa Chung wore new-season Christopher Kane. Stay tuned for our round-up of the best and worst dressed from last night’s Met Ball.

Golden Globes 2009: Fashion Round-up (Part 1)

How nice has it been to be able to just shamelessly indulge in red carpet fashion from the Golden Globes? Maybe it’s because we didn’t get the opportunity last year but I’ve loved every minute of it. Expect a more subdued ceremony this year we were told. Well, if “subdued equals classy, sophisticated and demure then I hope the Oscars are seriously sombre. O.K, now let’s talk trends. Strapless gowns were popular this year along with the usual one shouldered options which tend to be a red carpet favourite. The odd bright jewel tones courtesy of Cameron Diaz and Eva Longoria was much needed amongst a sea of nude and neutral shades and classic dark hues while Hollywood glamour at its finest came in the form of fishtail hemlines and bold statement necklaces!

2007 Fashion Trends: 10 of the best!

Eclectic is the word that comes to mind when we think of the trends that hit us this year. Styles came and went at a frenzied pace, some we loved, some wouldn’t go away soon enough. It was also the year that designers took their collections mainstream, partnering with high street stores to democratise fashion. From high waist lines to ballet flats galore, 2007 fashion was quite timeless. Here’s a look at the best fashion trends in 2007! 10. High-Waist Lines We still get chills when we think of that dreaded Jessica Simpson photo (this look is not for everyone. But after we caught a glimpse of Eva Mendes sporting this saucy, high-waist pencil skirt, we wanted to try looking like a sexy pin-up girl too! 9. Christian Louboutin Heels Manolo who? After years of absolute domination thanks to our favourite show, SATC, we finally saw another designer, Christian Louboutin, steal the soles of celebrities everywhere making a little flash of a red from the bottom of your shoe an accessory and fashion statement in itself. For more advice on fashionable shoes, check out Shoe Adviser for the latest shoe reviews. 8. Ballet Flats Three cheers for a trend that gave our weary feet a rest! Ballet flats did away with their once orthopedic image, and became staples for on-the-go, jet-setting gals everywhere. Hopefully this fashion godsend will stick with us a little while longer. 7. Year-round Scarves No matter the temperature outside, leaving home without a scarf around the neck left us feeling a little bit exposed. Overwhelming celeb’s tiny frames, we couldn’t help but wonder if Hollywood starlets were trying to keep warm or shield themselves from the paparazzi. 6. Belt it out Creating girly silhouettes with belts of all shapes and sizes was all the rage this year. From wide, […]

We’ve said it before….and we’ll say it again the belt is currently having a fashion moment and its not going anywhere next season either….(more on that later). Whether you go thin or oversized, think Eva Mendes at the launch of Mulberry for Giles earlier this year, you can make the belt work for you. Britt denies Britney

Britney Spears has once again topped Mr. Blackwell’s worst-dressed list, beating the likes of Mariah Carey and Paula Abdul for the not-so-coveted title. It is news to many that the one-time pop star actually has a stylist, and the poor girl in question, Britt Bardo, has had to speak out in defence of her skills (well wouldn’t you?). “I make her up and she just takes everything off and does her own thing claimed Bardo who has also styled Eva Mendes (remember her perfect work wardrobe in Hitch?) and Kate Hudson, who looked stunning on the red carpet in Colette Dinnigan for the premiere of You, Me and Dupree. Some surprises on the list , in its 47th year – were Lindsay Lohan, usually hailed as a style leader with the help of her stylist Rachel Zoe, Christina Aguilera whose 1940’s style new look is worlds away from her Dirrrty days, and the Duchess of Cornwall whose style is consistently classic and elegant.

Ryan Gosling Is A Feminist. Could He Be Any More Perfect?

Waking up to see Ryan Gosling on your Instagram feed is literally pure joy! Scrolling through, (as you do first thing in the morning), we were more than happy to see Ryan on  the cover of the Evening Standard Magazine and we couldn’t wait to have a read of what the man himself had to say. Being a father of two daughters, it turns out  the actor has some strong opinions about us women, which  shouldn’t be a surprise considering he’s loved by 99.99% of the female population. Here’s our fave quotes from the interview… On being objectified in the same way as women… “It’s our time as men to be on the receiving end of the stick. I grew up with women so I’ve always been aware of it. When my mother and I walked to the grocery store, men would circle the block in cars. It was very scary, especially as a young boy. Very predatory; a hunt.” On being in touch with his feminine side… “I’d say 49 per cent, sometimes 47 per cent, it depends on what day you catch me.” On women in general… “I think women are better than men…They are stronger. More evolved. You can tell especially when you have daughters and you see their early stages, they are just leaps and bounds beyond boys immediately.” Ryan we loved you before..and it’s safe to say we love you even more now!

I luv Hollywould

HOLLY DUNLAP, Creative Director and Founder of HOLLYWOULD, began her career in fashion at the young age of 16 as an intern for socialite designer Carolyne Roehm. Although Holly was not paid a salary during her time with Carolyne, she was paid in the next best thing: Manolo Blahnik Shoes. From her first pair of Manolo’s, Holly realized that there were shoes and there were shoes. I stumbled upon this site by accident and I think its great!!! The founder of Hollywould, Holly Dunlap is a professional with excellent press ranging from Vogue to In style. Her shop is filled with lovely goodies and best of all she maintains a diary which is even better. Its amazing but she is doing exactly what I am aiming to achieve. I dislike the fact that alot of designers keep their knowledge to themselves. Its cool to have a designer who keeps a diary as they can offer advice and you can keep up with all the events they go to. I am so happy I found this link. Her advice re-entering fashion: As long as we’re talking “Jobs in Fashion”, I may as well take this opportunity to answer some questions I get emailed just about every day: Q: I want to be a designer, what should I do?
