Selfridges Goes Back to the Future

Selfridges, my favourite British department store, is famed for its unusual and art-inspired windows. In the past they’ve had nude window models, painters and neon signs, and the latest offering is no short of fabulous.

With a summer slightly more disappointing than usual, Selfridges launched their new window scheme two weeks earlier than planned last week. Enter the future of A/W ’08 with its blocked colours and futuristic shapes titled ‘Cubic Futurism’.

Inspired by designer, Louise Goldin (whose collection itself was inspired by Mars), this Dr Who / Star Wars look is vibrant and eye-catching!

Perspex cubes in crazy colours, complete with robots and fabulous patent handbags from the likes of Vivienne Westwood and Mulberry (loving that new Roxanne tote in patent red) create the look.

So, head on down to Oxford Street and check it out. You never know, you might even be able to pick up some leftover 70% off designer bargains at the same time!

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!

Editor’s Pick

Polish off your sartorial brunch, boardroom and weekend silhouettes with Fendi's black textured leather duffle tote accented with tonal cow-print haircalf trim for that extra kick of Italian flair.
