London Fashion Week: Ashley Isham

In perfect contrast to Nicole Farhi, who Isham shared a venue with, a delightful display of glamorous and at times quirky designers were flaunted down the catwalk.

It looks like show-stopping gown extraordinaire Julian Macdonald may have a rival in his midsts. Isham showed everyone that he certainly understands red carpet dressing. With Grecian gowns and awe-inspiring cocktail dresses in an array of jewel hues, all were flawless.

The first dresses out were the shorter lengths, beautiful blues and turquoises and a fabulous swirling rope dress in a bold lime just screamed St Tropez in the summertime. A one-shouldered dress, which looked more like a floral arrangement, was truly stunning, Isham showed that he knew how to dress a woman.

The use of fabrics and embellishments added to the drama, chiffons draped in Grecian gowns, particularly strong in the royal blue and smoky grey tones. Silk jerseys were draped and created a sexy yet feminine look. Ropes added another dimension to the dresses along with oversized flowers and mirrors. A body armour style dress in a gorgeous bronze was an original design, which Isham pulled off with flair.

With so many well-designed pieces it is hard to choose a favourite but I was definitely in awe of the Japanese inspired floral chiffon gowns, they were truly exquisite, so feminine. The final two pieces were simply breathtaking, they gave the models an ethereal quality as they seemed to glide across the catwalk.

Isham is sure to be a celeb favourite.
