The showroom at the My-Wardrobe press day was jam-packed with fashion-hungry bloggers, making it one of the busiest (and therefore hottest!) autumn/winter events we’ve attended over recent weeks. It was also one of our favourites, as we got to see first-hand, some of the great pieces that the online store will be getting in next season.

First up, we saw the results of the much anticipated collaboration between Barbour and Anya Hindmarch. Not only do the coats feature the cute Anya Hindmarch bow logo, which is stitched into the quilted exterior, but you’ll also find novel inside pockets designed especially for lipstick, loose change and your phone (or ‘Dog & Bone’, we should say)!

As expected for the autumn/winter collections, there was a major focus on jackets and coats. We loved the military-inspired, long coat from Bllack Noir and the Burberry-esque leather aviator jacket from Nicole Fahri. Acne came up trumps too, with an unusual cropped number in a range of sumptuous and contrasting fabrics that just begged to be touched.

One of the things we get excited about when viewing AW2010 collections is seeing the kind of boots that we’ll soon be fighting to get our mits on. Surprisingly enough, UGG Australia have really upped their game for next season and we were pleasantly shocked when we discovered the brand behind the clog-inspired boot, which features an on-trend, shearling fold-over panel.

Never one to disappoint on the boot front, Acne impressed again with a huge, wedged platform – perfect for the rock-chic look with its striking, ‘unfinished’ zip feature and entirely leather outer.

As you might have noticed from the pics of the Nicole Richie/My-Wardrobe dinner held last week, the House of Harlow 1960 collection from Nicole Richie features a range of flat, suede booties complete with beaded embellishment.

Even more striking however, were these lethal-looking stilettos from Sam Edelman…

Aside from the fantastic range of outerwear available at My-Wardrobe, we saw some other really exciting pieces including contemporary pleated dresses from up-and-coming British designer, Kirsty Doyle; a dark, winter version of Kite and Butterfly’s fringed jacket; the new line from McQ, featuring mauve tartan and denim; a gorgeous kimono-style top from Nicole Richie’s Winter Kate and – our favourite – a wraparound dress in a striking red, from brand-of-the-moment, Halston.

And what’s this? The Mulberry Alexa? Hmmm, we sense that our credit cards will be taking a serious beating over the coming months…

There was lots of jewellery on show, too. In case you hadn’t already realised, we’re pretty taken with the House of Harlow 1960 line so we were more than happy to learn that My-Wardrobe will continue to stock the accessories range next season.

Continuing the statement jewellery trend was Nicole Lendel with gold drop earrings and Merle O’Grady with unusual Swarovski, black onyx and perspex necklaces. And for those looking to brush that out of their face? It seems that, at My-Wardrobe, feather hairbands are the way forward.
