Nicole Richie gets us in the festive mood in Stella McCartney

We don’t know if it’s the Christmas lights on Oxford Street or that Coca-Cola ad which has reared its head out of the blue, but we have suddenly come over all Christmassy. That’s why, when we spotted Nicole Richie in this gloriously festive ensemble, we let out a collective wow.

Hosting the Baby2Baby Partners with Huggies Santa Diaper Winter Wonderland Event (try saying that after a few mulled wines) in California, she looked positively radiant. Her long sleeved red knit and gorgeous satin red skirt are from Stella McCartney’s spring 2012 collection.

Teamed with a pair of black and white houndstooth heels and a black clutch, she had the kind of good ol’ fashioned appeal that we love so much this time of year. The outfit flatters Nicole’s petite figure and the colour works great with her olive skin tone.

While she opted for bare legs, we ‘re sure it would have looked just as good with black opaque tights – good news if you don’t live in Beverly Hills.
