After Sex and the City, or SATC some may say, debuted in theaters every female, and maybe some males, have tried to match the styles of the four main characters. Whether it’s preppy Charlotte or high fashion Carrie, fans flocked to any and all venues that told them how to mirror the ensembles of the starring four fictitious characters. For me, however, the film has given me the reverse reaction.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the individual fashion choices of the four leading ladies and have always been a huge fan of the show, but now more than ever I feel the need to continue on the path of developing my own look. As fashionistas in our own right, we know what we like- even when friends tell us it may look heinous, and for the most part, we wear it anyway.

So I’m going to yell it loud and proud- these shoes, fringe and all, simply make me happy. I love the suede material, yes even in summer, and the height of the heel is perfect for some elongating of the legs. Steve Madden’s Bijoux sandal comes in cognac suede, black suede and pewter leather for $129.99.

It seems the 80’s are trickling back into the mainstream- hold onto your fringe!
