The highlight of my day today was going backstage at J. Mendel. Love! The hair, the dresses, the nails, the makeup everything was utter perfection. Gilles Mendel seemed so cool and composed and he was looking wonderfully dapper (even though as far as I could tell he wasn’t wearing socks with his leather shoes!).

The models’ hair was styled amazingly by Moroccanoil in these chaotic curls and I loved the shade, Charlotte’s Wedding, that Dashing Diva used on the models’ nails — great complement to the natural skin, rosy cheeks, and pale pink lips conceptualized by Bobbi Brown. Did I mention the shoes? Drool! They’re Christian Louboutin for J. Mendel.

Another stand-out of the day was the Tadashi Shoji show. There were a number glimmering, beautifully draped champagne-colored dresses and some bandage, Herve Leger-esque ones.

To cap off the day I headed to the Meatpacking District to go to The Griffin where OK! Magazine was holding a party in honor of their newest contributing beauty editor, Kim Kardashian (random!?). Kardashian briefly spoke about how she has loved makeup ever since she was 13 and asked her parents for makeup lessons for Christmas. OK then. Also spotted at The Griffin, grease-ball Brendon Davis and Jay from The City — all and all a great start to the week!
