If you’re as much of a book boffin as you are fashion fan, you’ll love Mulberry’s new tome (and we can say that with an assured level of confidence, because we went to its launch yesterday).
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Mulberry (the brand) has launched Mulberry (the book), a coffee table tome spanning some 480 pages, documenting everything from the label’s humble beginnings in the British countryside to backstage shots of fashion shows and celeb parties in full swing.
And as you’d expect, it’s crammed with must-see snaps. The luxury British label has been working with Venetia Dearden, renowned photographer and regular Mulberry contributor (she collaborated with the brand on her Glastonbury book), over the past three years to capture its spirit and success in a candid fly-on-the-wall account of one of the world’s most coveted fashion companies.
“This book has been created to celebrate Mulberry’s 40th anniversary, rather than a dry historical round up of the brand’s past, it is a glimpse inside our world, a fly on the wall, warts and all journey through the past two years of the brand’s life,” says Mulberry. “It shows our public and private life, the highs and lows and the extraordinary Mulberry ‘family’ that work so hard together to make it all seem so effortless.”
We popped along to the launch yesterday to catch a first look at the all-new book whilst decorating one serious slab of cake in the process, and as well as being brilliantly exciting inside, its by far the prettiest read we’ve picked up in quite some time, so we’re going to give you a heads up: get it before it goes.
Mulberry the book launched yesterday at select Mulberry stores and online, priced £55 – perfect if you want a keep-me piece of fashion history for your coffee table.
