When we heard Hailee Steinfeld was wearing something other than Miu Miu at last night’s MTV Movie Awards, we won’t lie, we were pretty excited to see what the tween pulled out.

This is the girl, after all, that we fell in love with for wearing a sparkly Miu Miu dress that struck the perfect balance of grown-up and girlie.

But when we caught sight of her in a Louis Vuitton tuxedo suit last night, our hearts sank. Has she forgotten her age? Is this even the same 14-year-old?

Apparently so, only it seems she’s aged 10 years. Honestly, Hailee? Don’t rock Le Smoking style when you’re not legally old enough to buy cigarettes.

Credit where it’s due, her green Edie Parker clutch might be a redeeming factor in injecting a hit of fresh youthfulness, but it’s not enough to turn this miss into a maybe.

We do feel a bit guilty unleashing all this on the young actress, but frankly, we were expecting something far more exciting than an ageing two-piece trouser suit.
