Back in January, amply endowed Kim Kardashian waxed lyrical on her blog about the sisters’ forthcoming venture with US retail store, Sears. The sibling trio have produced a namesake ‘Kollection’ to be sold at over 700 stores across the country, offering everything from lingerie, apparel, jewellery, handbags, wallets and shoes. It makes me wonder: when do these girls procrastinate? Ever?

Having just landed at Sears, we decided to rummage the presale Kollection to gain a foothold on the Kardashian kreative kapacity (pun intended), and to sum up whether Mrs. Beckham should be fearful of any competition (highly impossible).

The full collection will  only be available online at Sears from August 11, and stores nationwide from August 25, so I braved the 72 hour online presale (all products 30% off Aug 7-10 midnight), and it’s safe to say I feel deflated. The trio who are a famous-for-being-famous establishment; who step out looking every inch groomed to perfection, with envious arm candy (we’re talking handbags) and killer heels – so they know style – have delivered dismal efforts.

I’m not convinced enough to surrender my wardrobe to the Kollection, but I’ll rescue a presale offering or two:  the Animal Print Chain Handbag in tiger print and the Metal Cuff Bracelet with Hexagon Stone Design could possibly cajole their way onto my credit card. As for the vertical striped, one shoulder dress – which will “make heads turn and jaws drop” (yes, quite literally) – and buckle shoulder tee in cut-price animal print: a no-go.

Sears are confident that the Kollection could help “propel an apparel turnaround”, but if the presale offerings are a sign of things to come, their hopes may well be dashed!

But I’ll cut short this sartorial litany here, and await the remainder of the collection to be launched online before I fully close my wardrobe doors to the Kardahsian klan. After all, these multi-millionairesses must be doing something right. Click here to view the collection…
