When you’re a princess, up-and-coming and well-established designers across the world dream of creating bespoke clothes and accessories for you, but Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is looking no further than Leicester to get some custom-designed shoes!

Six lucky and talented students from the footwear design programme at De Montfort University have submitted their custom shoe designs to Kate herself, who will choose a winner when she visits the university next month.

Sam Sawkill, Summer Spencer, Kay Yeng Cheng, Tabitha Duffield, Becka Hunt and Mei Chun Lai will find out which of their designs was chosen by the Duchess when she and the Queen visit the university on March 8th.

“We were thrilled when the Palace asked for six designs for the Duchess to choose from,” said Kevin Guildford, the head of the footwear design programme. “It’s the most fabulous opportunity for the students who couldn’t hope for a bigger fashion icon to endorse their designs.”

And we all know what power Kate Middleton has when it comes to her wardrobe; anything she steps out in seems to sell out in record time, so the winner’s life could well and truly change. We can’t wait to see who Kate chose as the winner… not long to go, now!
