When we logged onto British Vogue this morning for our daily fashion catch-up (and to peek the fashion Bible’s brand new July cover featuring Rachel Weisz – more on that later!) there was a nice preview of the Richard Nicoll for Topshop Bridal collection waiting for us… winner!

We love a good designer/high street collaboration, but were particularly looking forward to seeing how this collection would pan out considering neither party has dabbled in bridalwear before.

We knew from the start that we weren’t going to get ballgowns or a collection that would give Vera Wang a run for her money, but did anticipate that we would be seeing something modern, fuss-free and relatively understated – which is exactly what we’re presented with!

“I liked the idea of making a modern affordable alternative to meringue culture,” said Richard Nicoll. “The dresses are marketed as bridal but would equally be suitable as bridesmaid or cocktail dresses.”

We like them. We like them a lot! Would you be up for wearing one of these for your big day?

Head to Vogue now to check out the rest of the designs in the seven-piece collection.
