We all know that Central Saint Martins is THE college to get into if you’re an aspiring fashion designer (after all, past students include Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Christopher Kane and of course, Stella McCartney) but we also know that not everyone can afford the privilege of attending.

Therefore, Stella McCartney has announced that she will be funding a new scholarship program which aims to financially help MA Fashion students at the prestigious college.

“To get into a college like this so hard for so many talented young people,” Stella said. “For that reason, I am setting up this scholarship and I encourage other fortunate fashion houses to do the same.”

We think this is a brilliant idea! What a perfect way for all the successful designers to give back!

Stella will be offering £25,000 worth of funding every year, with the first of the scholarships being awarded this October! There are a few conditions though… in keeping with the designer’s morals, the students must agree to not use any fur, leather or other animal products. Sounds fair, right?
