Photoshop is no longer a secret of the industry, we think we can all get on board with that now. After all, we’ve seen so many Photoshop disasters that we kind of have to be, whether we like it or not.

So, with that in mind, we knew that Lady Gaga’s September cover of American Vogue would have received a bit of airbrushing here and there, but were in for quite a shock when we saw the full effect of this in some before and after pictures that you can see above.

We do like the end result – it’s bold, it’s vivid, it’s memorable… it’s everything a September cover should be – but after watching the video below, can’t help but think a less altered Gaga would have sufficed too. There are some great shots of her smiling that we think could have worked wonders!

What do you guys reckon? Photoshop gone mad or just what is needed to keep up with the rest of the publications these days?
