If you needed yet another excuse to head into Selfridges, here it is. Y-3 and adidas by Stella McCartney have launched a joint dedicated womenswear area on the 3rd floor of the store, and it complements the creative vision of both of the brands perfectly.
The 50 square metre space has been specially designed to showcase both Y-3 and adidas by Stella McCartney collections, so you’ll be getting the avant-garde genius of Yohji Yamamoto with the breakthrough of adidas innovation all rolled into one.
“We consider this concept a truly authoritative destination for style and performance,” said Judd Crane, a spokesperson for Selfridges. “Fashion-forward sportswear is one of the cornerstones of our casualwear offer; a true lifestyle proposition should enable customers to buy into covetable, directional product for every eventuality – including the gym.
“Even more exciting is the ever-growing prevalence of sportswear as true fashion – the landscape of this type of product has never felt more dynamic, and to showcase the very best edit there’s nobody more perfect to partner with than adidas.”
We can expect to see pieces from the adidas by Stella McCartney Run, Studio, Yoga, Swim, Low Waste, Cycling, and Weekender ranges, while key Y-3 pieces to look out for include a Kimono style jacket, a long black dress with cutaway back detail and a multi-coloured hoody dress.
Head on down to Selfridges to check them out in all their glory. There are absolutely no excuses to avoid the gym now!
