Not everyone can get away with wearing bold horizontal stripes, but a Victoria’s Secret Angel is never going to be one of those people. The proof is in this pic of Lily Aldridge wearing – nay, rocking – a striped Thakoon ensemble in the Big Apple!

Lily attended an event in New York City to celebrate her Fall Refresh Collection for Gilt and BluePrint Juice, and made sure that all of the attention was on her thanks to her gorgeous top and skirt combo from Thakoon.

She could have easily gone for black or white accessories to play into the whole monochrome trend that is ruling the catwalks, red carpets, and streets at the moment, but she chose to add a hint (and we really do mean a hint!) of colour by way of some Sophia Webster Nicole sandals. And what a fabulous decision it was too, as the orange pop of colour against her gloriously bronzed skin and monochrome outfit does wonders!

Hair and make-up, as expected, were flawless! Victoria’s Secret Angel power at its finest!
