We’ve experienced a whirlwind of emotions over the past week. We’ve cried, laughed, panicked and laughed some more. To say it’s a crazy time right now is an understatement. But in the spirit of keeping calm and carrying on, this weekend we set up a luxury spa in the comfort of our own home, and indulged in our favourite beauty treatments. It was bliss. It helped calm our anxieties. And it felt bloody good. So good in fact, that we’ve decided it has to be a weekly thing. ‘Self-care Sunday’ is what we’re calling it and we thought we’d share our top tips for creating an at-home-spa, so you too can get a bit of normality in what is shaping up to be a very strange year indeed.
1. Firstly set the ambiance. Give your bathroom a quick clean and ensure your space smells gorgeous with either a scented candle or essential oils. Don’t forget music. Having some calming tunes playing the background makes a huge difference.

2. Be prepared. Get your spa slippers, towels, bathrobe and products ready. Also decide which order you’ll start your treatments to avoid any mishaps. We like to start with a facial followed up with a face mask which we leave on while we have a body scrub. Once that’s done, we move on with a pedicure, then on to a hand treatment and finish with a manicure.
3. Tidy as you go. Spending your time tidying up after an afternoon or evening of self-care is far from relaxing. Also try not to opt for messy treatments, and keep it as fuss-free as possible.
4. Start with some downtime. Whether it’s your phone, laptop or the t.v, whatever your device of distraction is, turn it off. Change in it your robe, unwind with a herbal tea, water with lemon and cucumber slices or even a glass of champagne and read your fave magazine or book.
So those are our top tips! Now all that’s left to do is enjoy your ‘me time’ to the fullest. For the ultimate spa day, check out some of our must-have products below.
